My Perfect Tire Cleaner

Whenever someone says perfect anything, I cringe. There is no such thing as a perfect detailing product.

However, this video shows a tire cleaner that is perfect for me. It is both cheap and very very effective.

Video and details in link, hope you enjoy!

The reason Meg's doesn't mention anything about cleaning tires with D101 APC is because it's formulated for interior work, as far as I know. I believe I read in the past that D103 APC+ has a bit of degreaser in it, so that's why it's geared more for the exterior. If you put both products on a tire side-by-side, un-diluted, with no agitation, I'd bet money that D103 APC+ would do a better job of cleaning.

By the way, here's the description for D101 APC from ADS if you haven't read it: Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner 32 oz.

Notice the part about "...optical brighteners....fabric softener". Two things that aren't going to help your cause on the exterior.

I love D101 APC, but only for interiors. I'd never use it for the exterior unless it was my only option.

I have APC+ and it does not work as well as Optimum Power Clean. My favorite is Mothers Back to Black Tire renew for stubborn tire brown.

APC+ is great for casual cleaning but I really like Mother's Tire and Wheel cleaner. Really gets the tires back to black.

I wouldn't use D101 on anything but tires anyways. I've never had much luck with APC+ on tires, undiluted or not.

I like this product too, but D101 is so much cheaper and just as effective!!

Has anyone tried No Touch? It's pretty good for about $2 for a 1 lb 5 oz can at Dollar General. I generally just give the tires a quick scrub/brushing with something like Dawn, then hit them with ArmorAll Extreme Shine Gel but for a quickie No Touch works - spray it on and walk away.

To add to my earlier post, my favorite tire cleaner is Power Clean. Used straight, there's nothing better (IMO). But I cut it 3:1 & it still works great.

My preference has been either steam or surbuf pads by hand with Xpert Miracle Cleaner or General Cleanser and after that, no use of water or solvent based tire dressings at all as alot of them creat a vicious circle of attracting dust and grime and dry rotting the tires.

I'm over dressings.
