the photo is a bit decieving, Though the car is in pretty good shape there is room for improvement in all areas. I will be posting pics. This guy is a nut when he drives this car, He took me up a mountain at 135 MPH in this car, scared the bajesus out of me. It sits in the garage most of the time and is a bit dusty both inside and out, the chrome needs attention, wheels are dirty, interior vinyl is intact but will be much improved. I'm thinking of using something like PWS with polish pads on the paint, leather stuff on the interior and something mild in the engine bay followed by some sort of water based dressing. No disrespect taken but I could use a suggestion for the water based dressing. My main goal is to improve apon the owners mood when the job is finished, he is insintant apon me "working my magic" on the car as he puts it. Thanks for any and all suggestions, This is my first time working with single stage paint so I'm not sure if PWS is the right choice? I would like to improve apon my knowlege a bit before putting my hands on this car, TDThe car looks pretty good right now.
No disrespect, but just what are you planning to improve on?![]()

Tht or pro polish to not remove to much paint. Followed with some sealant or nattys. Just my idea, as it may not be the correct one. (my 88 f150 has single stage and ive used way to harsh of polishes on it in the past and removed lots of paint at the time.)
I've done paint correction on a lot of Stingrays.......
C-3 Corvettes have a lot of very "sharp" corners, seams, fender-tops, spoiler, etc.
Especially for original (40-year-old) paint, be VERY careful around those high spots.
If you're using a rotary you might want to tape off the ridges and do them with a PC afterwards.
Also, if it's original paint, it is single-stage paint and it won't ever shine like base-clear.
One other tip... The crossed-flags on the gas lid come off very easliy by two nuts on the bottom side, making it very easy to polish that area.

:dcrules You are right, this guy is a nut. Anyone who would risk my life by going 135 mph on hills is a complete idiot.(I may have punched him in face) at very least I would have told him what a dumba** he is.(Tha only places you find FLASH driving 135m.p.h. will be on dragstrip w/no passengers) You state car is always garaged. Garaged cars frequently = dry rotted tires. dry rotted tires = blowout. Blowout in curves @135MPH=DEATH. DEATH=BYE BYE FAMILY,HELLO GOD/SATAN"WHICH EVER YOU PREFER" Dave, I have confidence in your abilitys that you will do just fine w/what you already know. Now this doesn,t mean THIS A-HOLE WANT COMPLAIN(sounds like a drunken blowhard) Myself, I,m leary of people who want me to work magic.I,m no magican just a dedicated detailer who gives 110% on every car.
:dcrules GOOD LUCK!!!
