My New VW R32

Firstly I want to thank Dave Ellis for showing me how to do this and then doing the majority of the initial detail including claybar, polish and wax. He is a great mate and put me onto the Clay Magic and P21S products. Dave may have posted a couple of pics before I think, but I thought I would post this shot of my new VW R32 and put a link to my gallery for anyone who is interested in the other pictures.

The R32 is a fantastic car with a 250HP V6 engine, Haldex AWD, 6 speed gear box riding on 18" Oz Aristos with the most gorgeous Deep Blue Pearl Metallic paint. I apologise because the pictures just dont do the colour justice. The interior is Napa Leather with Koenig Seats and brushed aluminium through out including the pedals.

Only 200 of the cars have been brought to Australia and each has been individually numbered on a plaque inside and they have included a hefty R32 brushed aluminium Key Fob with the car number engraved on it and a R32 Pen and Umbrella

Anyway let me know what you think of the pics. This photo and the ones in my gallery were taken just after the claybar, polish and wax. Again for some reason the digital camera does not show the blue as deep as it really is so I will post more when I figure out how to get the camera to work properly

Link to my gallery is Quozl's Gallery

Cheers Alastair

The R32 arrived in the US about 4 weeks ago. The suggested price is around $29,000. I've noticed one of the local dealerships has already placed them on sale. VW car sales are slow at this time.

The domestic motoring press has given the car favorable reviews but there is some real stiff competition...both less expensive and more expensive.

Yes I've been following the US release of the car on VW Vortex forums. With 5000 for the US market they seem to be selling well with most of the first round delivered to dealers already sold.

There are a few left here in Australia but with only 200 they wont last long.

PBS' Motorweek did a review of the R32 Golf this week.

It got highmarks for power, handing and price.

I've followed it for months... Just an awesome performer and AWD handling.

Quite a sleeper.

Plus VW/Audi build quality. Quite nice.

The R32 is nice, and it looks great... but....

Brisbane rules. It's my favorite city in the whole world - I used to work for a company from Brisbane and spent quite a bit of time there... always stayed in this nice apartment on Park street - good restaurants, great shopping, beautiful weather and the nicest people on the planet.

I'll never forget eating dinner at this restaurant in a rain forrest, nor will I forget the ride there and back (rode there in a WRX STi and rode back in a 360 Modena). :D

Anyway, sorry for the hijack - love the R32! It looks great!

Ya know I saw one at a dealershop and took some pics. You are right tho you can't quite seem to catch the color. It is GORGEOUS................ nice choice and have fun:bounce

Was it Mt Cootha, Mt Tambourine, or Mt Glorious? Those are the only three I know of that have restraunts in the rain forest. Great drives all three of them with some of the best twisty roads around Brisbane.
