My new Car

Hi Folks:

Got my new car 3 weeks ago. Traded my 2002 Maxima for a 2006 Audi A3, with the dsg tranny and the premium packsge, in brilliant red. First impressions are good. What a great handling car.

The MAF sensor is a commonly-replaced item on the 2K2s I believe. Other than that, it's a d*mn nice car, those 2K2s and 2K3s.

255HP/6spd MT = :woot:

Congrats on the new car!!:bigups

I love the A3s, especially the DSG tranny! And Brilliant Red is an awesome color!!

Have fun and post pics for goodness sake!!:)

No problems what so ever with the Maxima. The best car I ever had...so far. The MAF sensor problems were mostly with people who put in air intake systems. Not needed with 255 hp. It would be a great car for you to get.

cool on the new car. Always nice to get what you want.

Are you going tomake me look it up on the net or will you post pic's soooooon!!!???

Maxima was also drive by wire, no noticible hesitation.

OK, thanks. I've had so many issues with Audi's DBW systems that it's the first thing I need to know about when I consider their offerings.

Ok, I'm trying to post a pic of the car, but it says my file is too large, 1280 X 1024 instead of 640 x 480, or whatever. Is there any way I can change this to post it?

the easiest way is to start a photobucket account http://www.photobucket.com/ register. It is easy. I registered without the wife's help. Move your pictures to the site. once pictures are in your photobucket album copy and paste the image tag to the forum posting area.

did you have any problems with the maxima? i'm thinking of getting one

If you are thinking of getting a 5.5 Gen Maxima, you might want to ensure that the following TSBs have been done:

- Hood Flutter

These cars will have a hood flutter at speeds above 65 mph and it gets worse when you get over 100. They will adjust the hood stops and glue the insulation under the hood to resolve this.

- Wind Noise

There is a known issue where there is wind noise coming from the right rear vent window. They have to replace that weatherstripping on that window.

There was a TSB where they had to install a rubber block on the floor for the accelerator. I recall having this done when I bought mine.

Other than that, these are great cars to own because they are quite trouble free.
