My new car and Optimum Gloss-Coat teaser pic

My 97 Civic didn't last long as a daily driver as the transmission started to act up, so I sold it as-is. Now I've purchased a babied 2000 Mercury Sable LS  The first thing I did was take it home for a quick wash and wax (Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo and BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection). The paint is in great condition but did have swirl marks that I wanted to remove.

It was a "grandma" car with only 50k miles and in great condition. I love the color (Toreador Red Pearl Metallic) and it's a comfy ride.

Yesterday, I gave it a complete detail and applied Optimum Gloss-Coat. Here's a teaser pic from my cellular phone :):

My SD card reader is acting up so I'll have to go to Office Depot for a new one to upload the pics from my camera. Rayview coming soon!

As you said, paint looked pretty good in first shot
after one is brighter/sharper/glossier :)

Need more pics

Toreador red was one of my favorite ford reds. That was until i got a ruby red focus. Cant wait to try gloss coat on it.

Ya I'm a sucker for any metallic red color. Funny you say that because I was looking for a Focus! I fell in love with it after renting one for a week. I just couldn't find one with everything I wanted (manual transmission and sunroof). Btw shopping for cars now, it's amazing how rare manual transmission cars are :(

The new focus is really a great looking car. I have the automatic transmission but it's really a nice trans to drive. Meant to behave like manual but the convenience of auto. I lucked out on mine, had the packages I wanted and body kit from ford, oh yeah and that ruby red paint.

Oh man I forgot you have an ST. So nice. I've never driven one but I bet they're fun. There is one for sale in west palm I looked at while drooling but I didn't like how the numbers added up: Used 2013 Ford Focus ST Hatchback for sale in Florida

Oh well, something to work for. Maybe one day I can buy one new. And maybe it will be the new 2016 Ford Focus RS! The 2016 Ford Focus RS Will Be A 350bhp AWD Monster Hot Hatch

If I come down for Detail Fest, I'll let you take for a spin after it gets wash there at Roberts shop.

I seriously doubt gloss coat is going to change anybody's mind considering there are coatings less expensive that last just as long. Its just another new coating in a long line of new coatings.

how far did 10cc go?

I used the included round yellow applicator and applied it fast and thick. I ended up using about 8cc's on the paint - no wheels. I wasn't being careful trying to apply it thin at all and I know with a different applicator, I would've used much less product.

It changed my mind! The fact that you can wax this coating v.s. Opti-Coat is a big deal for me. I've coated my motorcycle with Opti-Coat 2.0, CQuartz, Gtechniq C1 and EXO before and I ended up removing them all because I either didn't like how they looked or I couldn't wax it. I remember when I had the GTechniq combo on, it was bug season and my bike stayed flawless. Any bugs would just slide right off even after hundreds of miles on the highway. I was really happy with the protection, but I didn't like how it changed the look of my metallic flake so I removed it. I was weary of coating this Toreador Red Pearl Metallic and I was honestly originally planning on just waxing it with Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub Gold Edition, but a few coworkers talked me into coating it the day before the detail. After applying it, I'm ECSTATIC with how it looks and feels. I'll save the specifics for my rayview but the fact that I've got a layer of maximum protection which I can even regularly wax is a big deal for me. I've got a lot of wax I need to use lol.

I'll leak a couple beading pics while I put the finishing touches on the rayview:

Well....
Optimum Technologies was one of the First to come out and offer hardness and longevity that is longer than anyone else...

Before Opti-Guard - Opti-Coat Pro, Opti-Coat 2.0, there was nothing but Zaino..

In all the years I have used it, including my personal vehicles, it has never had any problems, issues, anything...

If they have found a way to make it "glossier" ( define the levels of glossiness please :) )
then this might be a good thing if you really like to apply product on top of it, and can be ok with the trade off - less longevity...
