My Mum's Taurus V. Chicago rotary, SSRs, EX, Natty's Blue

J.J.

DEEP & WET
THis is my mother's 99" Taurus. It was in pretty rough shape to begin with. It sits outside 24-7 in the blazing TN heat. I apologize for not taking any before shots and also for the horrible after shots. I couldn't get the sun to cooperate and I was pretty hot by this point.

Process:

Dawn Wash

DP clay

CG's Medium Compund via Chicago rotary ~ setting 3 using green Sonus pad

SSR 1 via PC ~ setting 3 using green Sonus pad

EX (old black bottle version) via PC setting 2

Natty's Blue by hand

EO A2Z on rims

Some spray on TW foam for tires

Again, sorry for the lack of before shots. A 99' + hot sun, you can do the math!

Thanks for the comments guys.

A few comments on the rotary:

I found the rotary had quite a learning curve to it. This was my second detail with the CHicago rotary and I found that my third detail went better and faster. Learning how to maneuver the machine was and still is the biggest challenge. I do feel with a little common sense anyone can pick-up the rotary and use it, however holograming will most likely be the major set- back for most.

The Chicago rotary is very loud relative to the Makita. I don't particulaly like the switch on on the Chicago rotary, and I hate the fact that the machine bogs with the application of pressure. I found the machine works best at near 6, which is quite fast and really loud but, if you add an orange pad, the swirls disappear right before your eyes.

I did have a problem with holograms, but I feel this will improve with practice. I did not like using the SSRs via rotary but I have a whole gallon of CGs Medium Compound, so I guess I better get used to it. I would prefer Menzerna or Optimum polish though.

EX and Natty's blue are an awesome couple. I loved the results it produces. I used it on my Dad's Regal and it looked fantastic. Pics coming soon!

Wow, that looks great! Toreador red is definately one of Fords best colours!

Question: How did that SE end up with 1999 SHO rims?

Awesome work J.J., the paint looks like new. The products you used with the rotary produced outstanding gloss and depth. If I didn't know it I'd think the paint was new.

I honestly don't know. My mother bought the car brand new with this rim mounted. The tires on the car were much better before she allowed some jack-*** to tell her they were the wrong tires for that model car. They were lower profile with a wider stance. The car looked much, much better before the tires were changed. I couldn't believe it when she drove it home with bobo tires on it. :sosad

Thanks for the additional compliments.
