My kids were out here for spring break, left this weekend. I miss them already.

:(

We had fun while they were here though. Maverick's game on Monday, steak dinner at Trail Dust on Tuesday, Speed Zone on Wednesday, Family get together's on Sunday and Thursday, etc.

Now they are both back in Kentucky. Jason left early Saturday, Chris's plane landed 30 minutes ago.

Took some pics though, I was amazed at how much weight Chris has lost, probably 40 pounds since I last saw him.

At the Hanger (aka American Airlines Center)

My niece was fascinated with Jason's tattoo

Being a brand new father myself, I completly agree with you Scott about how they can so easily be missed.

That is why you cherish the times that you can. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun.

My 20 yr old took off for a week to the Sierras and then the Bay area to see my niece, then to Sonoma to visit a buddy in school. I cant tell ya how many times I have called or tex'd him. He just left this a.m. I hate it when he (or they, I have 3) are away from home.....

Part of being a parent though. Now "we" know what we put our parents through eh?

According to my Dad, my kids are much better behaved than his were. :LOLOL

My kids are absolute angels compared to me and my brothers. Seriously.

The difference here Scott, is you apparently got caught at a few things! If my folks knew half the crap, I had to "discuss" with "authorities", I probably would have been brought up a little differently, lmao.

I just pray (and so far so good) my kids dont do the things I did as a teenager.....I have great kids, and a mom who got to stay with them for nearly 18 yrs...

Totally different times we live in these days also.......Im not sure I would swap out my time as a teen in the 70's for the teens of the 2010's...

:soscared: Take mine, please, 2 college aged girls except for the grandson, lets call it an even trade for the maxima??? lol

Its different times....
it sure is, we did not whine like spoiled brats like we have raised them to be, worst thing we did was to spoil our kids and we have all done it. I was pumping gas at 16 and I am still working at 47, my kids think work is for the lower class:mad: Hello, the middle class of yesterday is the lower class of today, more or less when gas is $4 a gallon...sad situation all around.

Glad to hear your kids are good Scott. But my offer still stands. (no refund either!)

I'm sure my mom feels the same way. Being 22 almost 23 and going home next to never she definitely loves it when I stop in although I basically treat my parents house like a hotel, I'm only really there to sleep. She was happy when I had 2 days there over SB because of canceled flights down to FL. As for growing up in a different time I'm sure things are different but the mentality of a lot of people hasn't changed, just depends on the child's ethics and role models around them... That's just my .02

Did you put them to work Scott?

They both work full time and are carrying a full load at school, so they needed the time off. My younger boy is a merchandiser for Pepsi and is making quite a bit of money for a 19-year-old student, my older boy works for FedEx, doesn't pay quite as well as his brother's job but still a lot more than I was making when I was in college. He plans on joining the Air Force reserves in August, finishing college then go active as an officer. They need to be successful so when I am 90, hot blonde Tiffany is changing my Depends, not Helga with the hairy knuckles. :chuckle:

cajunfirehawk-not sure you want me around your college age daughters.

Both mine have worked fast food, bag boys/cashiers at Food Lion and with me. Never had a problem getting them to work.

They actually thanked me for allowing them to stay this past week and making sure he had a good time. :) Mi casa su casa, I told them.

How about an 04 Focus?! :D :D

Scott,

Looks like your boys had a great time visiting their Pops. I'm fortunante enough that I get to spend a lot of time with my Mom and Dad. I really look up to them.

Looks like you've done a great job with your boys...err..I guess you'd consider them men now huh? Looks that way watching him down that brew (chip off the old block perhaps).:D
