My Integra got hit...AGAIN!

I've up and had it with careless people. It bothers me more than anything how inconsiderate most people are. They really could give 3 shh!ts about other peoples belongings.

Well, I'm sitting in my car in the University parking lot today (backed in) letting it warm up. While I was sitting there I was checking my voicemail and finding a new CD. As I'm watching some people walk by, the driver directly across from me backs out pretty quickly out of their spot, and well, they didn't stop. BANG!

I jump out of my car and go

-"What the fukk is wrong with you?"

-"Buddy relax, it's not bad"

-"I'm not gonna relax because your careless and can't drive"

This went back and forth for a few seconds. I assessed the damage and immediately jumped on the phone with the local PD and campus security.

After about 2 minutes the guy and his girlfriend began getting angry and calling me "rediculous" for calling the cops. They claimed that "no cops were needed". I told them that this happened not too long ago to me and I'm not leaving until the police arrive. They told me they had to leave so just forget it and exchange info. I told them, "Go ahead, you'll just be booked for a hit and run". He also kept telling me that it'd all buff out...I guess he didn't realize who he was talking to ;).

So 5 minutes pass and security and a cop car pull up and assess the situation. They took down our info, but no police report because it was on private property (stupid CT law). We exchanged info and as we both calmed down, he asked what I was going to do. I told him I'd be contacting his insurance company to get an estimate so I can get paid for the damages. He said to first get an estimate and that he'd pay out of his pocket for it. Well, we will see what happens, but it just all pisses me off. I didn't post it up, but last week, some a$$hole in a full size van parked 6-7 inches from my door and left a scuff on my rear 1/4 panel. I really cannot stand people without decency or better yet...A CLUE!

Holy $#&* ! At this point , I'm sorry to say, this car is a bad luck mobile. Oh man, you gotta write a book on dealing with parking lot mishaps after this is done. I'm so sorry. The least deserving always get fed the ^%$#.

Oh man, that really sucks especially after those new flawless pictures you posted last week. I hope everything works out alright.

i know how u feel. it happened to me about a month ago. second time too. his excuse was "your car is so low...". i called the cops. when they came, they couldn't do much because i couldn't say that i saw him hit me. i m not the type to lie but i was pretty sure. i was 100 feet behind my car at the time watching him trying to squeeze his explorer into a spot for a mini while pretty much running to my car. what pissed me off even more was that i purposely parked at the spot because it was an active driveway right in front of me so i thought no one was gonna even try to parallel park in front. was i wrong. the owner did give me $200 on the spot after a while of arguing. i had to get the bumper cover repainted. some ppl shouldn't be allowed to drive.

yeah, some people are so selfish these days. i bet if the roles were reversed he'd be pissed off too.

bummers to hear about this. maybe you should buy a beater so you don't have to worry.

Thanks everyone.

Norah: I was actually considering getting 4 cones and caution tape to put around my car each time I parked ;).

Man, really sorry Sean. That sucks, Finally get the Teg looking awesome, and some ***** nails it. All i can say is wow, and definately get the cone and caution tape (make sure you get some PVC pipe to stick in the cones to make them like 5 feet high so you can see them in your rear view mirror if you're backing up :) )

Sean,

I feel for ya man. I was just on the phone with my PDR guy today. The wife borrowed the Mustang and parked it in BFE like I have trained her and still someone parked next to it and put a nice ding in my door as well as the optional scratches at no extra charge. This makes the 7th ding Brent has had to remove and I can only claim responsibility for one of them. This is the second one in as many months.

Just came in a few minutes ago from working on my rear bumper cover with the PC and AIO. I noticed about 5 good scratches. Looks like they were probably caused by rocks thrown up from road construction going on in my route to work. Here in SC they like to use motorists to compact the rocks and tar when they fill in potholes. Once we do our duty they come back with asphalt and cover it. :(

One thing for sure, that ain't buffing right out.

My Accord was a door ding magnet so I have a general idea of how you feel.

Suck man.. I can't belive people these days. At least he is lucky he got you after meeting my newphew this weekend could you imagine what he would do.... he tends to fly off quick about his car...

I'm sorry to hear that. At least you're not hurt

My back really is horrible from my accident. I have a hard time standing for 1 hour, let alone 9 hour shifts. I'm probably going to not be doing much detailing this summer.

The driver definately would've fled if I wasn't there.

I'm gonna hit em where it hurts...the pocket :).

I will be going into campus security today proposing that the school gives a mandatory driving test (written) before decals are given out. There are probably 2-3 accidents a week there. This is my second this year and Liz has been twice...one totalling out to $11,000 in damage...IN A PARKING LOT.

You really wonder if 7-Eleven sells licenses sometimes...

Sean that does suck. A lot of people just don't get it. I don't care if it's a car, bike, shovel etc... you treat other peoples property as you would want yours treated.

It's amazing to see what other people do to YOUR vehicles. Last Thursday I washed our Tahoe and found significant scratches on a large section of the hood. It looks like someone put a piece of paper on the hood and tried to work out some ink from a dry pen. I had a 2' by 2' area that looked like a tornado. The pen marks put deep grooves in the paint. Thank God I have a neighbor that used to run a body shop and can wet sand! We spent a solid 6 hours on the hood last weekend to fix that one.

My wife and I park our cars in BFE to avoid door dings. More times than not, some POS will park right beside you and door ding you, even if the lot of 3/4 empty and you're parked in a remote spot. Man that burns my a$$. I should get certified in pulling dents, because I'm donating a few hundred bucks a year to have dent wizards come out to the house.
