My Garage Remodeled! PICS inside!!

well, ok, only one pic for now. I've made my garage up using influences from many autopians' garages, using ideas I liked and then adapting some of my own in as well. I only have one pic to show at first, and the influence here should be rather obvious:

More pics to come!!

LOL Brad, I have the shade, it was just taken down for painting. Actually if you look close, you'll still see one of the brackets up on the door ;)

SRL- yes I know... thats what I meant when I said "influences of ideas I liked from different autopians' garages" You'll see some ideas from Brad's garage as well, all in due time (in terms of organizational methods and some of the type of wall decorations)

Not a bad way to go, taking the "best of the best". Congrats on the remodel, now go take s'more pics! (Preferably with a shiny beast in there... :D )

Shiny,

Nice work, :xyxthumbs

Can you share what type of paint you used on the floor and your impressions now that you've been using it?

Thanks,

Russ

The paint I used was from lowe's, called "Insul-X Hot Traxx." It comes pre-mixed or you can get custom colors. It gives really good 1-coat coverage if you apply it with a brush (I wouldn't roll it on as the concrete is too rough to take it into the cracks/etc.)

I let mine sit for a week before driving on it and the first few times I didn't notice any problem with lifting, but now there are a couple (small) spots where the tires have lifted paint up.... they aren't all that noticeable however.

Eventually I will be also getting a floor mat to go over the paint and protect it a bit better (I have no idea what salt and road-crap dripping on it in the winter will do to it!) so if you are getting something like this in addition it would be ideal.

Great start! Now get over to Meijers and get a shade for that window in the door! ;)

I put textured contact 'paper' (plastic) on my windows to keep prying eyes out of my garage.

It's self-adhesive, easily removed (if you need to), AND lets light through. I didn't want miniblinds because you have to clean them, when the wind blows, so do they, and you will always hook a shovel or ski pole (or something) on them and tear 'em down.

lol! ok, ok.... I'll go out in a bit and take more pics of the whole thing...

I did prime the walls using "Zinsser BIN 1-2-3 Primer/Sealer" and then did 2 coats of each color with Sears Lifetime Semigloss.

here's one with a little reflection off the Blazer (yeah, I know its dark... I have more lights I just haven't put up yet  )

and finally in this one you can see a little of where the peeling is occurring. If any requests come in, I'll take a pic tomorrow while the car isn't in the garage. :bounce

The red striping is sweet! Too bad about the floor paint issue. What kind is it? Hopefully it will just be isolated.

....and the window shade. Thanks, it makes me feel better. ;)
