My First Polish

I am getting my first polisher in a couple weeks in this combination kit from autogeek:

Meguiars FLEX 3401 Ultra Polish Kit with 6.5 Inch Pads, Meguiars Mirror Glaze Polishes, Meguiar's 105 Compound, Meguiar's 205 Ultra Finishing Polish



It also comes with 2 free red ccs pads so I was thinking of getting Meguiars #3 to use with them:

Meguiars #3 Professional Machine Glaze is a fine grade car polish/glaze designed for polisher application. Meguiars #3 is part of Meguiars Mirror



I was thinking of washing the car then polishing with #105 (Orange CCS pads) then #205 (Gray CCS pads). I was thinking of finishing with Meguiars #3 and sealing the car with Collinite 845.



I have been waxing and detailing cars for quite a while but I wanted to run this by all of you. I do not want to spend an arm and a leg and I figured this should work fairly well.

Any comments would be appreciated. I looked into Menzerna but it seems a little too pricey.

Congrats and good luck with your first polisher, I went with a pc7424 before i got my flex. I only owned the PC for a couple of months and I decided to switch, I love my flex it gets the job done faster. It really is a great machine.

I just got my first PC a few weeks ago too. I got the 5 "pads of your choice" and some of that pricey Menzerna stuff - Intensive and Micro polishes. It turned cold and rained a lot here right after so I've only done one hood polish with the Micro polish, and two whole car wax applications to get the feel of everything.



Your plans sound great to me - but then what do I know.

The jump from 105/orange to 205/gray may be a bit much, you might want to try 105/orange, 205/white and then 205/gray. But, the best way is try a test spot on your paint and see what works/looks best for you. I find 105/white followed by 205/white or gray (depending on clearcoat hardness) is the best combo for me.

That's what I was thinking too, but some people do great without the intermediate step so just see how it goes.



Same for the M03; sometimes it makes a nice difference, other times it's a complete waste of time. Just gotta see how it goes.



But generally the plan sounds fine.



Prime the pads properly with the M105/M205. Work *small* areas with the M105, and I mean "smaller than you otherwise would".
