My first Polish job

Well I decided that my car needed a little bit of polishing done due to the wonderful dealer blemishes introduced during their "surprise" wash they hooked me up with when I took the car in for my 1,200 mile service. Car has almost 9,000 miles on it now.



Process used:

- P21S wheel cleaner

- P21S exterior wash

- Adam's Clay bar w/ Quick Detail as lubricant

- Hose down car

- 1 WW to quick dry all water

- Leaf blower for trapped water

- 2nd WW to fully dry (I found that this 3 step drying method works pretty well and is fast)

- Poorboy's SSR1 w/ PC 7424 - LC Green Pad (Only used SSR1 to remove light swirls. There are still a bunch on the car, which will need an SSR2.5 treatment at a later date)

- P21S Carnauba Wax

- Adam's Quick Detailer

- Meguiar's Ultra wheel wax on tires



The day pics are taken right after the job. I wish I would've taken some before shots, because the car got a little dirty after I was caught in the rain a few days ago. The night shots were taken after I took the car for a 200 mile trip to upstate NY and back, so the wheel wells might be a little dirty. I gave it a nice Adam's Quick Detailer once over to remove dust and bugs (After I dusted it with California's Orig. duster) when I got back. The night shots are pretty dark because my digital camera is pretty crappy.





My first time using the PC. Enjoy.

wow! thats an awesome detail, even the inside of the rims is clean. i love those csl rims. Did you have to take off the rims to clean them? what colour is the interior of your car? its beautiful. Good job.

I actually used to break my hands sticking them inbetween the spokes to clean the inside of the rims. But then I searched out this woolskin wheel cleaner which I now use to reach inside the wheel. Pepboys carry this wheel 'brush.' It's the only one I've ever found that is this soft. Every other one on the market is abrasive, and I never purchased them in fear of scratching the clear coat. It's still a painstaking process, but the wheels look so much better when clean on the inside as well.



The interior color is Ecru. It cost me a little bit to get it installed on the car, but I think it was worth it. :dance



Thanks again for the compliments. The next job is probably going to have to include SSR2.5 since there are still some deeper swirls on the body.

yup, the car on the left has a beautiful ecru interior and the other has a black interior. :bow is that the new interlagos blue? i love that colour so much. a lot of people say it has a purplish hue to it, but i dont see the purple. :nixweiss Again, very nice car.

The color is the new Interlagos BLue. It definitely has a purple hue to it, which only comes out in certain light. If you take a look at the picture of the two Interlagos Blue M3s, you can tell that there's a dark purple like color coming out, also the purple sometimes comes out if the sun hits it at the right angle.



Overall the color is more blue than it is purple. You can see how different it looks in almost every single one of the shots I have posted here. It changes almost every day.
 
Great job on a spectacular car. The clean wheels really make the car look truly "detailed". I hope you enjoy getting them dusty between cleaning !!! :)

hahaha I do a LOT of engine breaking right after a wash. But evenutal braking is unavoidable. I'm looking to purchase ceramic pads next to reduce the brake dust.





Question for you guys. There's a piece of tar really stuck to my passanger side front rim. I'm usually able to rub these things out, but this one is really on there. Should I just use a product of some sort on it, or maybe just take a wooden stick to it? I've went through many finger nails trying to scratch it off. :eek:

I live up north in Clifton, but I've been to meets as far as northern CT and south PA. I'd definitely be up for a meet.
