I finally used a Porter Cable 7336 yesterday and the results were amazing. I was previously using a POS waxmaster orbital that literally shook my brains out....what a difference with the PC! So much eye candy for so little effort!!
Here's what I used:
Dawn soap wash (well, it was Ajax dishwashing soap)
Mother's Detailing Clay
3M Fine-Cut Rubbing Compund (Yellow Pad on 3.5)
3M SMR x 2 (White Pad on 4.5)
#26 x 3 (applied by hand)
Buffed off each step with microfiber towels
The pictures don't do justice...the paint actually looks much better than it did brand new (I'm a newb when it comes to taking good detailing pics). #26 gave it a very deep, warm and liquidy look. I'm probably gonna try that Zaino stuff later on but I'm very satisfied with the results.
I'm probably gonna delve into wetsanding the slight "orange peel." I just hope I don't fcuk up the paint.
Thanks to you guys here on Autopia...now I know what good detailing is!!
