My First DA Experience (pics included)

After a lot of reading around here I decided what I wanted to do to the car. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough hours in the day...LOL Oh and my car sat for two days outside before I did anything to it.

Anywho my process was this:

Wash w/Dawn (don't think I'll be doing this any longer)

Clay w/Z18

Wash w/PB's Suds

SSR2 w/orange DAS pad

EX

Natty's Red

Wheels were cleaned using P21S gel

Tires were dressed w/Z16

This is what the claybar looked like when all was said and done. Guess the car was pretty clean:

I didn't have any idea just how long this would take. I was truly exhausted after working on the car and I still didn't get everything done that I wanted to. This was the only picture I managed to get taken that night. I also found out just how important lighting is...LOL

I know there's more that needs to be done, but it may be a moot point because I found some issues that the dealer will have to deal with.

Love the shot with the chairs in it. Nice job. It is hard work though. Try my minivan sometime. LOL :grinno:

I'm waiting for the ex hubby to ask that very question. Thanks for the kind words. Was begining to think I'd done something wrong...LOL

Nice work :) I remember my first experience with my PC... I spent a month reading this site, bought all the essentials, saw how most of these guys do a complete job in like 6 hours and set out to it.... 3 days later i finally finished :grinno:

But you get the hang of it eventually ;)

What issues did you find that the dealer has to fix?

I hope my next job doesn't take 8+ hours. I promised a friend that I'd detail his car as a wedding present to him and his soon to be wife. They get married on the 29th.

When I opened the hood to do a car show I noticed that the paint is bubbling along a weld. Can't have that. I've been putting off having the trunk lid repainted, because I was so busy doing car shows all summer. Figure I better get this done now before any(more) rust starts to appear. Can you say uggg
