My Car: 2008 Caliber

Finally got around to doing a detail on my car. After it was returned to me from the body shop earlier this year, it came back riddled with swirls from whoever(improperly) washed it..

Went with HD UNO and POXY, claymagic blue clay, and did everything by HAND. For next years detailing, im buying a DA.. Haven't had the extra cash to throw into a DA as of late, but next year, im not going at it by hand again.. WAY to much work.

My Poxy, UNO, and HD's hand applicators:

I like the color, too. Your work really brought it out.

I agree about getting a DA. Polishing by hand is a killer. Once you get one, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.

Thanks guys

Yea, i definitely need to invest in a DA.. Next year after winter most likely.. Funds have been quite tight lately..

How long did that take? It came out looking amazing!

I pulled the wheels and cleaned the wells on a friday, took me roughly 3 or so hours.. Saturday i worked on the paint, and i started around 10am, finished around 7pm... So, all in all, i have about 11-12 hours into it..

Had i worked with a DA, that would have taken me a 1/4 of the time.. I also stopped for lunch on Saturday though.

It definitely turned out good! There are a few deeper imperfections that i just cant get out by hand, but i made peace with that. Its also my daily driver, so it sees everything from 100+ degree temps in the summer, to snow and salt in the winter.

I think in a couple months im going to re-apply the poxy before winter, and we'll see how it holds up to a Chicago winter.

You did that by hand?

AMAZING!

Thank you!

It was definitely a LOT of work, but the results speak for themselves.

looks great. that color is awesome and wet looking with the poxy.

I am VERY pleased with the way poxy works, and makes the car look. I just REALLY hope that it is in fact more durable with the 3.0. This car see's winter and salt, so hopefully the poxy is up for the task.
