My Brinkmann is broken?

I got a brinkmann dual xenon spotlight for paint inspection about a week ago. I ordered from Amazon. The first day I got it I charged it for 8 hours like I was supposed to and I tested it out. The light was very powerful and seemed to work fine. So I unplugged it an put it away. The next day I went to use it and it seemed to have lost its charge, it went on dim for about 10 seconds and then died. Today I polished a silver benz and wanted to inspect the paint with the brinkmann which I had let charge for 2 hours prior and it barley had any brightness even with only 1 of the 2 bulbs on. It says the red light on the bottom goes off when its fully charged and when I went to use it today that red light had gone off so I thought it would be ok. Now its on my desk and it has a tiny bit of brightness lasting for a few seconds buts its plugged in and the red charge light is off! Does a brinkmann hold its charge very long normally? And do you think mine is just possibly broken?
 
it sounds broken. i had to use my brinkmann last night during a power outage and it's ridiculously powerful. there's no way you wouldn't notice it if it were working properly.
 
It's common, unfortunately. The batteries are shot, sometimes out of the shoot. Out of a couple dozen Brinkmann's that we've used, 3 or 4 are WOA (weak on arrival) and never end up being good performers. I'm throwing them in a box until I can send them back.
 
Don't know why people buy Brinkmann when they can buy a Surefire

-brighter

-small size



Don't understand it, it's like buy turtle wax for $60, instead of souveran :nixweiss

Which Surefire do you use? Their website has hundreds of torches & I don't want to get the wrong one!

if it was broke out of the box I would understand but it worked great for a day. I guess I'll send it back and see if I can get a replacement or maybe just get something else. Also maybe the charge light itself is broken and it shuts off before its fully charged.either way I'm kinda pissed I have a deatil on Saturday and the only light I have is my one halogen worklight
 
So im charging the brinkmann now even when the light is off, Ill let it go for about 6 hours and see it it works if not then I'll send it back. What are some alternitives to the brinkmann, something of similar size and price?
