My 6 year old daughter understands car care!

I think my 6 year old daughter knows more about proper car care than maybe 90% of the public. She knows about the 2 bucket method and grit guard. She sometimes helps me by rinsing my wash mit. We were eating dinner the other day and I asked her how should you wash the car, she said, "you need 2 buckets, one for rinsing and one for dipping"...that's what she calls the one with the soap.

Then yesterday morning, she looked outside and said, "it looks like a good day to wash the car", then she said, "there's lots of shade"...she really caught me offguard with that one. She usually complains when I wash the car, because I may be out there for about 3 hours. She knows that you should not wash the car in direct sunlight.

She even watched a video from showcargarage about proper washing technique.

I wish I had learned that kind of stuff when I was 6...I learned the hard way

That's really cool that she is picking up on the tricks of the trade. I'm sure you were grinning from ear to ear.

My Little Detailer came up with a good one the other day. he said, "Details are all in the details." Six year olds pickup everything you say. I was so proud of him. As I am sure that you are of your six year old.

my daughter is 21 and no longer lives at home, she always helped me detail the cars, she was always on interior duty, she would do everything but extract the carpets, and i have to say she was much better at the interiors than i am, she never missed a crack or crevice as long as she had tunes. i really miss those days !

It is amazing how fast they pick things up. I don't remember picking up anything when I was a kid...must be in the milk :)

Mine have been helping since they were 5 ..but they do tend to lose interest when it comes to drying :)

I have 2 boys 11 and 6. I tell you what.....try and get that foamgun out from the hands of a 6 year old!! He loves that thing! I really enjoy having them help me out. Only problem is that I usually have foam on everything.....car, BBQ grill...the dog. LOL Enjoy every minute...they grow up so fast.

By 10 she'll be using a PC. :-)

lol I think she probably will. My 9 year old daughter comes out to detail with me. She loves to use the foam gun and to rinse and she helps me vacuum the interior and clean the glass. She always wants to use the PC, but I told her she has to wait til she's a bit older. :)

My daughter saw how hard I've been working on the car, so she decided to take over (notice the proper technique with the cord over her shoulder)
