My 03 Oxford White Mach 1 detail...PICTURES

Hey guys, well to begin with this is my first time with a "serious" detail, the car only has 3800 miles on it and still smells new but there were moderate swirls and some water spots on the roof/trunk lid, I finally bought all my new products and here they are

well my first step was a wash, I did NOT need to clay it due to the fact that I clayed the car about 2 weeks ago, and well then, then I started experimenting, given that this was MY FIRST time using the PC and any real products, It took me a while to get the hang of things but i was pleased with my results, I found that 4500 RPM on the PC with the light orange pad with Optimum compound, would take out most swirls by moving slow, letting the PC do the work, and going back over the worked section twice, then after the coat of compound, I moved to a white pad, with the optimum polish, turned it up to about 5000 rpm, buffed it real nice, (all products were removed by hand), after this I applied a coat of my Poorboys EX sealent with Caranuba, which by the way I was extremely pleased with, went on smooth, came off easy, shone real nice and feels as soft as glass!!! here are a few pictures

Very nice work! I love before & after shots. :) That's a fleet of nice Mustangs there...

thanks guys, my friends DSG mach 1 (the one with the deep dish mach wheels on the back) is one of the cleanest machs I've ever seen, 40,000 miles, looks better than the day it came out of the factory, it also has a built motor, procharger, and some other go fast goodies, but the way he keeps his car has inspired me to make sure and take care of my car as well as he has!

Thankyou! it was my first time so Hopefully I can only get better at it, the EX turned out great, I also had a question about the "hyper compound" there were still some very light scratches/swirl residue that was leftover and I was wondering if the hyper compound is a heavier cut than just the regular compound, I was surprised at how long I had to work an area with the orange pad and the compound to buff it clean of swirls, and it still wasnt all the way clean even after the polish and the white pad, oh well I'll figure something out, keep reading/trying different products I guess!!

Very impressive for your first time! Love the car by the way, that's one of my favorite Mustangs of all time. Hope to see more pics of your car here soon.
