 Nothing like wet red paint and 561 horsepower!

I hope I can finally get to mine tomorrow, I haven't even washed it since late December. :nervous2:

That red paint is dripping wet, very nice! Those tires in the back are maHOOsive!!! Are those 345s or something?

35TH LE- Yeah, that turned out great :xyxthumbs And you're right about how wet it looks.

I *was* a little surprised you had to start out so aggressive though..did you take any special precautions around the hood graphics?

Thanks guys.. I appreciate the comments!

I bought the car used and honestly... the paint was in bad shape when I got it. The hood was pitted, there are several scratches on the car, and a couple etched bird droppings. I used a PC on the car about a year or so ago.. and it turned out OK. This time I used a rotary and I wanted to clear up as much as I could and I wanted the car to finish uniform so I did the whole thing.

Unfortunately there are a couple scratches that I couldnt clear.. which Ill be the only person that sees them. lol Some of the pitting remains too.. just too deep to remove completely. However.. once again this is something only Im going to notice. Or any other Autopian. :chuckle:

Oh yeah.. those are 315s out back. I wish I could stuff 345s in there! Even with 315s I still blow the tires off through 3rd gear. :)

Ah, OK, now I see. Smart move not shooting for literal perfection. Sometimes I think this site gives people, uhm, ...unrealistic expectations ;) Glad you knew when to say "good enough".

Beautiful! That car has got to be M-E-A-N! I was looking at LS1 cars with hopes to procharge, this really makes me regret not doing it.

Accumulator... man I wanted that pitting to go away but it just isnt going to happen... well, I could make them dissapear but I dont think the red would look good w/o clear on top of it. :chuckle:

Charisma... I tell ya what.. a LS1 with boost is a very fun machine to play with. My buddy races circle track cars (500hp on race gas), I let him drive it once and he said its the only car that scared him when he hit the pedal. :D

DieselMDX... I am really liking this 5050, it really does live up to the hype. The exhaust is actually stock option center mount exhaust. There is a rear valence that is supposed to be around it but mine is in the paint shop being resprayed.

This is what it looks like with the valence on...

How right you are. It's bad enough that I'm really careful when driving my newly detailed car. If I was completely anal, it would never leave the garage. 90 - 95% perfection is better than 99.5% of everything else on the road (and 99.9999% of everything in Wyoming) and I don't get super paranoid about actually driving.

I'll take 95% perfect and fast blasts on the Beartooth Highway over a 100% garage queen any day.
