Well, since i decided all the Duragloss stuff after lots of advice from DaveKG & Bryan (drive 'n' shine) this weekend was the start. The biggest problem is the great british summer and that horrible wet stuff that keeps coming from the sky. But proceeded as follows:
Friday:
1) Washed the Car using AS AutoWash, TBM and Mitt
2) Proceeded to clay the car using Sonus Green and LT, just a few tar spots removed.
Car in garage for the night due to rain
Saturday:
1) Went over the entire car using 652 Pre-Cleaner No. 2 using a Microfibre pad. Couldnt believe how dirty that pad was afterwards even though the car had been washed and clayed the day before.
2) Then went over the car using 601 Polish bonding Agent again using another Microfibre pad. This went on really easy and dried virtually straight away to a haze.
3) Next up was the first sealant layer, 105 TPP ( Total Performance Polish ) was applieding using a 3.5" finishing pad by hand (thanks for Alex@SP for these pads). The selant went on really well and was left for around 15/20 mins to haze. This was then buffed off with a Poorboys DMMT and buffed with hardly pressure at all.
Key point is that the haze from the 601 is not buffed off but left and the 105 applied directly over it.
The car was then garaged again and the 105 left to cure for 12hrs overnight.
Sunday:
Earlyish start to get the next layer on
1) Fine layer of dust from been in the garage was removed using 921 Fast Clean & Shine and a Megs Super Shine Microfibre.
2) 2nd layer of 105 was added using the exact same method as the previous day. After buffing off the car was then put back into the garage and left to cure for 12hrs.
At this point the bodywork was feelying really slick and there was a real gloss to the finish.
3) 1st layer of 111 Clear Coat Polish was applied, again this was applied using a new 3.5 finishing pad again and then buffed off after 15/120 minutes once hazed.
One thing i found with 111 was thay it didnt buff off any near as easy as 105 did and also the bodywork didnt seem to feel as slick, but this could have been related to the time of day etc and also not been cured yet.
Now the car is back in the garage and the next layer will go on tomorrow night with the final layer going down on tuesday. After this there will be a final wipe down 24hrs after the final layer with 951 Aquawax.
All in all i really love the finish its giving me and looking really wet already and i am only half way through the process.
My previous finish was Megs #7 Show Car Glaze followed by 3 layers of DoDo SuperNatural. This gave me a super wet finish that i really liked and will continute to do so as i am a big supporter of DoDo. Also i can achieve with DoDo and Megs in 5hrs what takes me several days with DuraGloss, so for other peoples cars at least DoDo will be my premium finish.
So here are the pics so far.
Thanks for looking and yoru question & comments are welcomed
