mr. clean autodry (gasp!) soap alternatives

the rear looks like a cross between a VW and an X5. The thing is just plain ugly. I'll take the ML55 over the X5 4.6i and the X5 4.6i over the porsche.

Anyone else think that front view makes it look like a cross between a Santa Fe and a Dodge Stratus? :down

...the Cayenne has diluted the entire brand. I hate it. I loathe it. I dred the day I see the first one in person. It saddens me to see a sports car company lower itself to follow marketing whims and become a follower in the suv (sux) market. The most profitable car company in the world got even greedier.

Lover of "real" Porsches.:sosad

I understand what you Porsche fans are crying about, trust me. It sucks to brag about your car being the best in one specific area, having one model built back in the 70's and tweaked every year from there, they did nothing but make thier cars better and better then all of the sudden in 6 months they can come out with a crappy SUV that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is going buy, that brings the Porsche image quite a bit down in my book.

I still like them alot but MAN do I want to pimp smack the person who made that, I would burn those blue prints for that ........ that .......... that ......... NIGHTMARE!

It does look more like a wagon than an SUV, from the rear. Aside from that when I first looked at the front angle pic it reminded me of a Jensen Interceptor with the excepiton of just the grille area, anybody else see that?

The back hatch looks like a VW Golf

The back bumper looks like an X5

The front lights look like a Boxster

The front bumper/grille looks like the Twin Turbo Porsche

I see they don't want to use any domestic parts ...... bias'd little son of a &^%&*

<strong class='bbc'>Lover of "real" Porsches.:sosad [/b]</blockquote>Now, how about FWD Porsches?? Are those "real" in your book?? I don't consider them real, but that's just me. The Cayenne is hidious indeed. Have you guys heard about the BMW Pickup Truck?? The Volvo SUV?? I think even Saab is slated to make a "Stupid Useless Vehicle" as well. No offense to those of you that own one as some of you may actually use them as they were intended. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hey I have a Sport Luxury Utility Truck! Well thats what some say I call it a Ultimate Utility Vehicle.

There is a need for SUV/Trucks and cars. I think everyone should own several of each!:D

PS I think that Cayenne pepper thing would fit in the back of my Avalanche!:D

<----will stick with an X5 4.4i Sport.

The Cayenne is as attractive as a Pontiac Aztek (and we all know how attractive:rolleyes: that contraption is.)

looks a bit like the front ent of their GT-2 car (with the big openings for air). I wonder what moved them to take the step into the SUV rhelm?

I wondered why Buick went into the SUV business, but I have seen a few of them on the road. They look funny. I think that the Pontiac Azec looks the funniest. Too much car, with too little wheel.

It looks like a really big station wagon, or touring car.

Joe - I know you were only kidding - but imagine the poor bastards over at Porsche that had to build this thing.

These guys are used to designing sports cars, then one day, a manager walks in and says

<strong class='bbc'>'Guess what? We're going to build an SUV'.[/b]

Typical engineer response would be

<strong class='bbc'>'Why the hell would we want to build an SUV? We make sportscars!'[/b]

And the typical manager reponse:

<strong class='bbc'>'Because marketing says these things will sell like hotcakes'[/b]

Just like that, before you know it - you went from designing top of the line sportscars to station wagons on high heels. From an engineer's perspective, it's a sad, sad world sometimes.

I'd take the BMW X5 over that thing any day! I don't really understand Porsche's move here. They're supposed to be all about creating "pure" sports cars, not mommy mobiles. Do they really need money bad enough to try to capatialize on the SUV market? Just seems like an awkward move to me...

As Brad said there is only one reason why a sports car company would even consider building an SUV.....$$$$$$$$$. For a company that has prided itself on building elite sports machines for many years to lower itself into the SUV market to simply pad the bottom line is shameless. Bad move Porsche. :sosad

I don't know if I was serious or not, I have doubts.

GUYS!! - Don't you know the X5 series has the new 4.6 engine!!!! It's bigger, faster ........ I love those two words......

........ I don't know what I would rather buy the Kia SUV or the Porsche, they book look like they have the same amount of quality put into them.
