Moving Slowly

I`ve been moving pretty slowly the past couple of months since I lost Pops. I had been putting off a procedure that I`ve known about but didn`t dare do while taking care of him. Well I finally got around to it and had a shoulder replaced on Tuesday. I`ve been through this before and it`s no picnic. I`ve now got two speeds, compound and what ever is below compound. ;) Hope to be a little more visible on the forum in the next while.

Does this mean you`re GearHead MkII now? Did you get tired of bogging down on curved panels? ;)

Shudda used some high gloss on the replacement parts before they was put in. :D

Fell better my friend, better days ahead.

You have no idea how easy it has been for me to get bogged down. Most details have simply been one handed.

Sounds like you need the RUPES Nano - short neck = perfect for one hand operation! Ha. But seriously hope your new shoulder helps.

Get better GH! My dad needs that same surgery, but he`s trying to put it off a couple years until retirement. Sounds ugly.

Got into one of those scenerios that if I held off longer, the type of procedure required to fix it would change to a reverse shoulder. I was wearing very high up in the socket. It`s a damned if you do, damned if you don`t scenario, you want to hold out but it may not be in your best interest. I`ve known it needed attention for several years and have put it off all the longer I could. A reverse shoulder is where the ball ends up on the body and the cup ends up on the arm. I just didn`t want to go that route as it limits my long term options. They had both shoulders in the operating room on the day of my surgery and it could have went either way. I`ve had very good success with my other shoulder using the traditional replacement and hoped desperitely that they could do this again. My luck held out or so it appears. Shoulders hurt, no doubt about it. In my opionion they hurt far worse than having a knee replaced but not quite as bad as a multi-level back fusion.

Theres likely a multi level fusion in my future. I`m hoping the IDD will keep me out of surgery long enough that there will be a stem cell break through. Dreading a surgery like that.
