Got into one of those scenerios that if I held off longer, the type of procedure required to fix it would change to a reverse shoulder. I was wearing very high up in the socket. It`s a damned if you do, damned if you don`t scenario, you want to hold out but it may not be in your best interest. I`ve known it needed attention for several years and have put it off all the longer I could. A reverse shoulder is where the ball ends up on the body and the cup ends up on the arm. I just didn`t want to go that route as it limits my long term options. They had both shoulders in the operating room on the day of my surgery and it could have went either way. I`ve had very good success with my other shoulder using the traditional replacement and hoped desperitely that they could do this again. My luck held out or so it appears. Shoulders hurt, no doubt about it. In my opionion they hurt far worse than having a knee replaced but not quite as bad as a multi-level back fusion.
