Mothers Reflections Top Coat

I tried the Top Coat and it works great. It's easy to appliy and remove and really gives the finishing touch. I used Mothers Power Poilish, Mothers Reflection Car Wax, and Mothers Reflection Top Coat all by PC. The car looked amazing and the process was very easy.

I too have tried the Reflections Top Coat... very nice stuff! I like to put it over FX Synwax for a very nice, unique look! :2thumbs: Both of those products are extremely easy to apply and remove.

I have also found the Power Polish to be an excellent product... similar to the way Z-PC works... it has a wide working range. I'm also really fond of the new Reflections Tire Care. It has replaced my Z16.

All in all, Mothers' really has some great new products!

I've used it on both navy blue mettallic and teal-it has a bright, warm, reflective look with smooth gloss. extremely easy and available locally :xyxthumbs

I am surprised of how little the forums talk about these new mothers products. I am in love with both reflections advanced car wax and top coat, and even the spray wax leaves a gorgeous finish.

Try it, you will love it. Personally, I find top coat quite superior to a boutique product of the same features (synthetic-carnauba blend, no cleaners, recommended for dark colors) But very few talk about the red bottles :nixweiss:

I LOVE the new Reflections....Great and warm on black. I am wondering if I should top with Natty's or the Top Coat. Any thoughts from you all?

Thanks,

Brett

I have to agree with you Alex, 100%. I made the switch to the Mothers line up and have not looked back. The product delivers results and will give any boutique line a run for their money.

I love mothers new line too. I currently use FX synwax and FX spray wax on my own car. The overall results are nearly the same as Meguiar's NXT but without the need to tape off the cars black trim due to the fact it does not turn your trim white. It also seems to last longer then NXT which can't seem to survive more then two washes.

IMO, FX Synwax is easier to use than NXT, too . . . I've had occasional smearing problems when removing NXT, but FX has wiped off cleanly and effortlessly every time (so far, anyway).

I just wish local parts stores carried more Mothers products. I haven't seen any of the Reflections lineup here in Omaha.

a lot of Pep Boys carry the Mothers Reflections and FX lines and Advance carries the FX
There aren't any Pep Boys stores in the Omaha area, and it's the Reflections line I can't find. Advance, O'Reilly's, etc. are carrying FX, Mothers clay, Showtime QD, the PowerBall, and cleaner wax, but nothing from the Reflections line, AFAIK. I'd like to give the new Power Polish a try, too, but no joy there, either.

I may have to fire up the credit card and do a little mail ordering if I want to experiment with the new Mothers stuff.

That is what I did, and I don't regret it at all. In fact, if I didn't know about the smell of the products and use it as differentiator; in a "blind test" by performance and results I would say the red bottles are the boutique products and some boutique competitors are the OTC...... oh well.

Any more experiences with Mothers Top Coat? I will tell you about it tommorrow as I will apply some tonight.

After a hazing problem with WG (did not let it cure long enough) under Souveran Paste Wax, I took it off. A sealant with a wax. So I tried Men PO85, red moose glaze x 2, and Souveran Paste Wax X 2, waited 24hrs, Then Blue Natty's X 1, Then Mothers Top coat X 1. I think this is the max shine I can possibly get without going to a body shop to add more clear coats. This is on a Red RX8. The Top Coat went on like a wax with A DA buffer without any problems and it was very easy to use. I give Top coat a 4.5 / 5 ..... I done till Saturday when I will play again. Wax junkie..... Wonder about Mothers Reflections Wax? But I know the Top coat is great......

Reflections is a stand alone LSP with light cleaners. Its cleaners are so slight they're almost non-existent, so I wouldn't class it as a cleaner wax.

I would use it by itself x2, or as a base coat for Reflections Topcoat (its proper name).

With what you've done so far I'd stick with Topcoat.

One day when you strip it all off I suggest you try FX x2 24hrs apart. Very glossy! Nice depth too. I know of ones who've given up Zaino for FX.

Paul,

I going to take you up on the idea of using Mothers FX x 2 then topcoat.

My suggestion would be to just use FX x2 without Topcoat, and maintain with FX spray wax.

Topcoat will add carnauba depth but may mute the bright shine FX produces.

FX spray wax has no cleaners and is a wipe on/off product with genuine shine enhancing properties.

The thing I like about the FX system is you get the bright shine look (if that's what you like) without looking plasticky like some other hi-gloss products. Excellent durability too.
