mothers original fomula wax, how good is it?

Welcome to Autopia, Darin :wavey

Just to let you know, I moved your thread to the Detailing Product Discussion forum. All product- specific questions and discussions are contained there for good organization and reference for the benefit of folks just like you who are wondering about certain brands and types of products.

As for the Mother's wax in particular, coming from a proven good quality OTC manufacturer, I wouldn't doubt it isn't worse than the other waxes you might be familiar with although it specifically isn't generally discussed too often here.

I'm sure others will chime in and a search of the archives will lead you to more information you are seeking.

It's a decent off-the-shelf offering. However, it attracts a lot of dust and it is not the easiest to remove. Also, synthetic polymer sealants are more durable than carnauba waxes. If you're looking for a locally available wax/sealant, think about Mothers Reflections Advanced Car Wax and Mothers FX Synwax. If you want you could top whichever of the mentioned you choose with either Mothers Reflections Advanced Top Coat, or Collinite 845 (extremely durable wax). Search the forums for more info on all those products.
