Most agressive DA pad/polish combo?

I recently purchased a Porter Cable 7424xp and a lot of Adam's Polishes products. I like all of the products, but their most aggressive pad/polish combo often takes 10+ cycles of working the polish in one area to remove the RIDS. I don't have 30-60 minutes to work a 2' by 2' area. If I was only correcting my car, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I need to do the wife's car next and my mother and sister both want to pay me to correct their cars. I can't work 5 hours per evening for a week, plus all day Sunday, just to correct their cars. I need something faster.

I am at a point where I either need to buy a rotary polisher or find a pad combo significantly faster than the green pad + Severe Swirl Remover combo I have now. I have been reading about the microfiber pads, but I don't have compressed air and may as well just buy a new rotary by the time I made that investment.

What's the most aggressive pad/polish out for a DA? Does anyone make a wool DA pad?

Thanks a lot for your time and advice,

Chris

The Microfiber System. I took out 1000 grit marks in one pass and 800 grit marks in two passes. The system is very capable for sure and you can sub D300 for 105 and get more cut when you need it.

I ended up going with the Tuf Buf wool pads. I ordered 4 of them, a wool spur, and 105.

Jon, I love the idea of the microfiber system, but I don't want to invest in compressed air which seems fairly necessary to blow out the pads between every set for best results. I do appreciate the recommendation, though.

You might still want to consider air for use with the wool (and foam) pads anyhow. I blow my wool pads as well as spur them, but maybe that's just me.

On something like a PC, I feel Surbufs are more aggressive than LC PFW pads. I have no experience with the Tuf Buf pads, although I've seen Thomas recommend them for Flex work.

Thomas, would you rate them more aggressive than Surbufs for a PC-style machine?

I like the Tuff Buff pads for my rotary but I like the MF System on the da. I will have to slap the Tuff Buff pads on the DA for fun and compare.

Thomas speaks highly of the TufBuf pads on the Flex so I'd assume they'd work well on a DA. Don't know for sure though? I can't imagine anything cutting more than SurBufs with either M105 or OPCII. NExt step down would be Meg's MF pads.

I would. It really cuts very well while leaving a pretty good finish behind. You can burn paint with this wool pad on the pc (GG) without much effort.

Wow, I would have thought Surbufs topped the chart on aggressiveness w/DAs but maybe these wool pads have it beat. Thanks for the input, fellas. This may be something I have to try down the road.

burn paint with a DA? yikes (thought that was near impossible)

I've burned paint,yeah... actual high-temperature damage (not a cut-through/etc.), with a PC/4" Cyclo green pad/3M PI-III 05933. And I wasn't being stupid about it either. This was on the MPV back in maybe 2005 or so.

I tried the Tuf Buf wool pads tonight with 105 and I am in love.

This stuff cuts sooo much faster than Adam's most aggressive pad and polish combo. I was having to do 6-10 sets in most areas to get the scratches out and the new wool pads and 105 have the job done in 2. I had to hit one area a third time to get one scratch out. I still finish with Adam's fine machine polish on the white pad, but the new pads and polish will cut my machine polishing time by 2/3.
