More Zaino for the Teg and a Blackfire'd Silverado

First up is my Teg...

Washed With PB SS&S, then did Zaino Z2 x 3 with the ZFX Accelerator. With the Z2 I noticed and enhanced 'gloss'...If I were gonna do it again, it would be Z5 x 6 total. I felt Z5 gave better depth for dark colors where the Z2 would look great on lighter colors due to the added gloss. Regardless, I'm not unhappy at all. I think it looks great. As it sits now,

-AIO

-Z5 x 3

-Z2 x 3

-WG Gel on tires, rims, wells, and plastic trim

I liked this shot because it's a commonly neglected area

Oh yeah, new suspension went in this week ;)

-Tokico Pro-Kit in the front...3 'dead' coils removed

-H&R Race Kit in rear

-KYB AGX 4-way adjustable shocks all the way around

It is a 2" drop all the way around. I went with stiffer in the rear, 1) I got a nice deal on the set and 2) A lot of suspension guru's believe stiffer in the rear for better cornering.

Anyways, Silverado is next!

Next up, my mom's new Silverado.

She picked it up a little over a month ago and due to the horrendo! weather, no detailing until now. I did the interior and engine on separate days this week, but they're pretty un-impressive...it's new for god sakes :)

Anyways, the paint was lightly swirled from the dealer...Anyone here surprised? The paint was pretty smooth though, so I didn't clay. My final processes were:

-PB SS&S Wash

-Menzerna Final Polish via rotary and LC polishing pad @ 1500rpm

-Blackfire Sealant by hand

-PB Trim Restorer on all black trim

-PB BnB on tires

For the Blackfire, so far I'm not crazy about it. The look is what many refer to as "artificial"...lots of reflection/gloss, but little warmth/depth. I don't mind the look personally, but the application and removal were not that fun. At first it went on great, but then I noticed a little didn't go a long way. I applied more, but had to stay as thin as possible. I tried removing per panel, then let the last batch sit for 15 mins...No matter what, still took effort...This isn't a final review, but just initial thoughts. More when I experiment.

So far the mods (for those who care) we have done...

-Removed "4x4" decals off rear fenders

-Removed "LS Quadra Steer" decal off cab

-Polished Billet Grille

-Polished Billet Bowtie

-Amber DRL's

-Sylvania Silverstar's (low/high beams)

On the way, chrome nerf bars, painted cap, tint the windows, Flowmaster exhaust, OE fog lights (w/Silverstars), and a rim/tire package.

Enjoy :)

Looks incredible as usual Sean. How did the FP II work on those swirls, the after pic looks like it did a good job? Even though you don't like the Blackfire, hard to go wrong with FP II polish! Also, what kind of tape to you use for details, just blue 3M? Where can you get it at?

Sean,

When you drop 2", do you need a chamber kit? Did go for wheel alignment

You got any engine bay shots? Turbo that bad boy!

Thanks for the nice verds :)

Bob: It's scary how far you can push it ;)

O4Cobra: It did a nice job on them. I do single, overlapping passes with light pressure. I just go very slowly over the surface...2-3 secs per foot of panel. It was FP by the way, not FPII. The tape I use is 3m Painters Tape. It is a clean release type and works great. I think it's about 2 dollars per roll and I get it at Wal-Mart.

Corey: You need to start readin buddy :)...I use the polishing pad for pretty much everything. FP is great because worked correctly, it leaves no marring via rotary.

klnyc: I have a Progress camber kit from my last setup. No alignment needed...I was happy :) ...It tracks perfectly down the road. Here is my engine bay...

Excellent as expected, Sean.

I see what you mean by gloss on your car. I got a similar look on my black car. Looked really good with super clear reflections, but I ended going back to products that give me of a liquid look. Any plans for a carnauba topper now that you have eleventy billion layers of Zaino on your car now?

The Silverado looks really good too. I've heard from others that Blackfire isn't the most user friendly product. Too bad, because it looks great on that truck.

Maybe regular BF users can chime in on the best way to use it?

Both look amazing

If I were putting exhaust on a Silverado, it would Magnaflow. Great sound and great flow. Might be worth looking into.

Ooooh...i thought they had more than one type of pad.

Zane- I agree, Magnaflow IMO sound alot better. I think its just a matter of time before Magnaflow wins popularity over Flowmaster.:xyxthumbs

They both look great Sean! Don't you just love getting to that lip under the badges on the tailgate. ;)

I third that...Magnaflow or even Corsa, IMO both have much better sound over Flowmaster and less interior resonance.

klnyc: Type One Racing (T1R) from Japan :) (4-2-1 to a 2.5" collector)

Scott: I've thought about it, but for now I'm happy. If anything, I'd say Natty's for it's very clear, wet-like tendencies. I think that rivals the Zaino look well and the two products would compliment nicely.

Yeah, it would be nice to hear more about BF application.

ZaneO: The Flowmaster is waiting at my dad's office for him. It's the American Thunder Series. My dad has it on his Cobra and loves it, so he figured why not for the Chevy.

Corey: I like the 7.5" version is Concaved Trim.

blkyukon: SUCKS! I changed positions a lot...Thank god the rotary works quickly, but yes, the worst part of buffing out this one.

Thanks everyone :)
