More work during the week or weekend?

I'll be moving to a different department with my full time job. I may have the choice of working 3 twelve hour shifts on the w/e fri to sun or staying with the same schedule I have now 4 ten hour shifts with fri, sat and sun off.

Do you think it will be easier for me to book details if I have mon to thur off or do most of your clients prefer to have their cars detailed on the w/e?

TIA!

Both!

Being a firefighter, my detailing availability is based on my Fire Department and Fire Academy schedule. Most of my clients are firefighters, cops and EMT/Paramedics, so their schedules for availability to have their vehicles detailed are similar to mine. I do detail on Saturdays, but I avoid doing them on Sundays.. I work enough of them at the firehouse!

personally, i think that the weekend is still holds the advantage over weekdays. i don't think that you'd really be burning yourself one way over the other but, i'd do the four 10 hour shifts.

I am retired for the most part, so I can pick detailing jobs whenever. But I get most of my jobs monday-wednesday. I usually get 3-5 details a week during those 3 days.

I find that people are more inclined to get their car detailed while they are at work during the week... Since they usually want their car for the weekend!

If you are a professional, it is important to be available for your customers when they need your services. In your case, be available as many days as possible.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I took the w/e shift at my full time job and will be detailing during the week. I get to "try this shift out" till the end of the year. If all goes well I can bid it again.

Bryan,

I think if the people really want a detaill and are willing to pay for a DETAIL and not a quick wash and wax...they'll make their cars available to you whenever you need them. I dont see it being a problem for ya. Your work is worth making the arrangements for. Are you going mobile?

On the schedule...both your options sound like winners to me. I'd love to work 4 10 hour days instead of 5 9.5 hours days like I do now. 3 12 hr days sounds like a real winner! Enjoy the new schedule.
