More (short) rotary practice - original sizes

with this combo, it was really hard to burn the paint - I would just hold it down and stayed still for 20 to 30 seconds and at that point I started smelling the burnt paint and stopped. I guess I could have kept going but It was long enough for me to have an idea.

Looks perfect, but does it feel any different? Do you think the cells from the foam might have 'warped' at all from the heat? How hot was the paint surface after you lifted the pad off of it? (Or were you smarter than to actually touch it like some certain teen would have... :o)
 
I put another NXT picture up - look at it. I spun the pad and it feels fine. I'll recheck tomorrow when it is dry. I did touch the paint but not right afterwarss! It looked too hot. Even after awhile it was hot.
 
Thanks ZaneO - I thought it was a Corvette fender! I went by a couple of body shops but none had a hood. This piece is too small.



There is a new collision center on my way to work off of the highway that I want to visit. It is huge and looks like a dealership.

VW/AUDI/LEXUS/PORSHE I think. Should be able to get a hood or trunk.
 
Great job. All in all with the rotary as long as you keep it at 1800-2000 max and keep it moving its not "easy" to burn the paint. Are you using the 8" pads? I actually like the 7.5-8" for rotary work.
