I just wanted to take a minute to say hello to everyone here at Autopia. I'm one of the "refugees" from TID and I'm hoping to find a bit of an online home here to replace what we had at TID.
I've been detailing in one capacity or another over the past 21 years. I started out with my own vehicles at the age of 16 with no formal training to speak of. That was a time of waxing a car with a 4-year old jar of turtle wax and and then maintaining cleanliness with daily washes of dawn dish soap in direct sunlight. Needless to say, I've come quite a long way since then. :rofl These days, I use my Flex 3401 VRG or, more rarely, the old Porter Cable machine. I pretty much do it all aside from wet sanding which I would love to learn one day.
While I don't run my own business per se, I do work out of my garage and have a list of clientele to keep me busy in the spring, summer and early fall.
Other than detailing, I work full-time as a Career Development Instructor (i.e. professional resume developer and job search coach) and have other "side hustles" including building and troubleshooting PC's, editing documents, and occasional landscaping work. A guy has to keep food on the table somehow!
I can't wait to reunite with my old bud's from TIC and I look forward to meeting some new friends here at Autopia!
