Sometimes I just have to shake my head. The world (and our little microcosm of it here at Autopia) is so full of acrimony, yet we all have more in common than we have differences.
There is so much racial intolerance, yet we are all people. There is so much religious intolerance, yet virtually all religions hold the same tenets to be true. And we argue endlessly over which wax is better---when Guru Reports lumped virtually all of the products that they tested together--essentially saying that they were more alike than different. Many contributors here have said that virtually every product they have used has performed satisfactorily. The differences become idiosyncratic perceptions among perfectionists (with a few exceptions at each end, as noted by Guru).
In an ever-smaller, ever more crowded world, it frustrates me that we become ever more polarized, and that people of other races/religions/political leanings/wax preferences are not accepted as having different opinions--but are declared "wrong" and subject to vitriol.
Posting here that a certain product is "good but maybe not as good as people say" is like suggesting that someone's religion is good, but maybe not as good as people say--it's pointless and pejorative.
This country was founded on the principle of allowing people to be different--giving them the right to be different. I think people here should be allowed to have different product preferences without being castigated for it--why do certain products engender threads that become "my opinion is better" pissing contests?? :furious:
Well, I'm tired, had a tough day...maybe tomorrow I'll regret posting this.
