Mold on Seats and Rugs

Just One More Coat
Next door neighbors have a extra car that they left passenger side window down about 3 inches for a couple of months....its rained then got warm rained again and so on.....mold is on one seat (material) and somewhat on the rugs as well.....the car is dry inside now.....Most of it looks like its on the surface so a good vacuum should be good to start.....What are your suggestions on the rest?....I was thinking about a oxy-clean solution with APC or something along those lines....then brush and vac....any suggestions would be helpful on this one!

The only thing that I've found to really kill mold is bleach.

In SMALL amounts, bleach is just a potent cleaner, not a dye remover. In a 3 gallon bucket, mix 1 tablespoon of bleach, 2 oz of APC, and 1.5 gallons of warm water. Pretreat the spots with Kid & Pets (Target), and do a test area with the solution (scrub in, extract). If you see a positive effect, keep going.

I did this on an SL500 with cream carpets that had Coca-Cola thrown in it about 5 months before. For those 5 months, the coke just baked in down in Southern Florida. I removed all the stains with no adverse effects.

I've only seen mold one time, as you have described.

My steam buggy, followed up with a carpet cleaner mix took care of it.

For something nasty, you probably need an ozone generator. They run a few hundred $$'s and up.

Thanks Joe..

I called my local detail supplier....I have a real good one here....he has a product Eco-Save (sp) that is designed to remove and naturalize mold....so that's what I am going to use..
