Saturday I had the pleasure of working on this beautiful M3. The temperature was a warm 28* when I started. Luckily my little electric heater brought the garage up to around 56* for most of the detail. The M was in good shape. It had some RIDS that could not be completely removed. Lots of pictures to follow.

Process:

ONR wash

Spot clay with clay magic (Didn't need much)

EC/OP yelllow LC @ 1200-1800

OP White LC 1100-1200

FMJ by hand via mf applicator

Wells and tires protected with Megs Hot shine

Here in NoVA it doesn't snow very often so it is only a few times a year that your car gets that nasty.

I've used Zaino and FK2180 which are the cloesest match to your list. I've had FMJ for almost 3 years and I still enjoy using it. The slickness is excellent. It goes on and off very easy. I usually applied 2-3 coats to my car and it lasted a good 5-6 months through the Buffalo winter. Since I moved to Virginia I have been playing with other products. The Zaino lasted a long time on my car and the FK2180 I applied to my friends Colorado back in September (http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/77617-02-getta-06-colorado-56k-warn.html) is still going strong and the truck went for a few months without being washed.

I think those are all great products and there are many others that all have good duribility and the main difference is price and ease of use. Some products work better on metallics others on solids. That being said get what you want.

Everyone else thanks for the comments. I agree the CF was integrated nicely without over doing it. The BMW Rondels have CF in place of the normal Blue and even the M badge is done is grey hues. I can't wait to be :waxing: it again!

nice work on an even nicer car!

not feelin the hood tho....still a bad *** ride either way

I wasn't a big fan at first but after working on it I think he pulled it off well with the paint and small amount of CF exposed. Fitment is very good as well.

John, looks absolutely great. Really did a great job on BJ's car!

Oh, FWIW, I sent a guy with a Yellow GT3 your way, thank me later if he actually follows through with ya.

Thanks man. It was filthy. Unfortunately he has a car show this Friday and we are supposed to get nasty weather. I might have to give it another wash later this week.
