i have a couple questions for you guys.

1. When you are washing your customers cars be it at there house or at there work, do you use like a mat to minimize the waters effect on the parking lot or driveway? Or how do you do it? (that probobly seems like stupid question)

2. You are supposed to detail cars in shade the shade (correct?), how do you mibile detailers work in the shade? Do you have like awnings that come off your trailer?

Sorry if these questions seem a little dumb.

Water effect on the driveway? Huh? I just wash using their hose or use ONR.

You can detail cars in full sun, you just need the right products. I used Vanilla Moose and Aquawax on a couple red semi trucks I did in full sun and it worked out great. Both of those products are sun friendly.

Some people bring their own tents, some detail in the owners garage, and some are stuck out in the sun.

You must be talking about run off into sewers? I hear in California they are anal about that...like everything else.

Good luck with Mobile Detailing....detailing in the sun sucks and gas prices eat away your profits like CRAZY. I no longer do car washes unless there are 5 cars in a row that I can do and they pre-pay.

Bringing a tent is okay...although good ones are heavy and as much as they say they can be put up with ONE person.....they are so lying to you!

Evaluate Mobile detailing closely....I wish I would have looked into it more mself then I would not even have gotten into it. Having your own place is great cause your rent is *always* the same and if you get a HOME RUN spot...you can bank in the money.

One thing.....BRING TONS OF WATER!!!! It sucks driving back home dehydrated and almost fainting while driving home!

The de-greaser effect won't harm it if you can rinse it off before it dries on the concrete.

First, you need to have a drivers license to get to your clients.

Sorry, this is getting old now.

NO Sh**! 1. i never said that i was thinking about starting a mobile detailing service and

2. If i did do it, i could get my mom or my dad to drive me to them, drop me and the trailer off, take the car then come back and get me when im finished. (this would only be in the summer, on weekends, or after school)

1. Unless your city/town/county have water restrictions on reclaiming your waste water, there shouldn't be a problem. Something I try to do, but forget, is when I apply tire dressing, I try to put down a piece of cardboard so the spray does not get on the driveway.

2. Shade. Not necessary, but helpful on those hot days. I have a 10x10 canopy that I set up for full details. To short to fit SUV's under, so a lot of times I say forget about it. I can set it up by myself. Picked it up from Pep Boys for about $50. EZ-up brand...

I use ONR so water on the ground is very little. As for chemicals on the driveway I've not had a problem. I apply dressings with a brush and any cleaners are usually very dilluted and even more so when they are rinsed off. Never used a containment system. In 17 years mobile cleaning I've never seen one being used locally. As for detailing in the sun I try to find shade if possible otherwise I just deal with it.
