Mobile Detailers... Lights?

Hey, I'm seeing the advantage of using a light to inspect for swirls, but I don't see which one I should buy. I have one 250 watt lamp right now, and I tried to see the swirls I normally see in the sun, but none showed up. Only on the dark, lower rocker panels of my three vehicles is where I could see the scratches. Any suggestions? Im mobile and need something extremely small. This is what I tried, and failed.

What determines if the bulb will display imperfections nicely, the strength of the bulb? I see auto barn has a bunch of the lights, wondering which would be best.
