Apr 15, 2004 #1 L LKimura New member The mat did it's job when one of the bottels in the carton of synthetic oil leaked over night. Not a lot. I tried scrubbing it with some dish soap but there is still a tacky film on the mat. Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Apr 15, 2004 #2 andriver Detailing Hobbyist Try Simple Green or Orange Blaster. Additionally, I would use cat litter prior to cleaning the spill to absorb the oil. Good luck.

Apr 15, 2004 #3 J jasonatv22 New member I'd start stepping up the solvent ladder. WD40 Bug n' Tar remover Brake parts cleaner Condition the rubber after cleaning, as those solvents strip the rubber.

Apr 16, 2004 #5 J jasonatv22 New member Once you have it clean, I'd just throw whatever protectant you usually use, 303 or Armor All, whatever, on it. But, considering its a mat, maybe that's overkill.
