Let's see... right now its got 3 layers of WG, 1x Signature, and 1x Liquid Souveran. Its looking nice and sharp. :) These pics were taken the other day from my roof. lol Its an angle I haven't ever taken pictures of my car at. This car looks good at any angle, so I figured it couldn't hurt. ;)

One of these days I'll be able to take some pictures when the sun is really out and not setting behind some trees. Then they will look even better.

I just got the windows tinted last week. 20% in back and 50% up front. I should have been able to go darker up front, but the stupid tint shop I went to doesn't know the law. I'm going back with the law in hand so they will peel this stuff off and go darker. I also put the bug shield on the front to protect from rocks. I know all about clear bras. I have my reasons for not putting one on. You can also see the painted calipers and how much better they just blend in. I'm pretty happy with how it looks right now. :) Next up: Some new shoes. ;)

:lol Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Nice pics! It is good to see something other than the regular 3/4s front shot. How you liking the car so far?

You know, I knew I could expect some flack from you because of that. lol Actually, if you look closely then you can see that there is actually sun out there. Its not my fault that I get home from work at 5:30 when the sun has already gotten way too far over in the sky to provide really good lighting. ;) I revel the day that I'll be able to get some good sun shots going. The shade is washing out way too much of this great color.

One thing I will say is that the new Legacy has the softest paint I've ever seen. You even look at it too hard and it chips. Since I put the bug guard up there I haven't had any more chips that I can see. It was an item that I hadn't planned on needing to put on, but you know how it is.

So far driving that sucker has been a blast. I didn't realize that COBB was based in SLC. They are just up the street from my house. I used to live right around the corner from them when I was single. I have big plans on what to do with my detailing dollars this year. ;) :bigups First I need to dress up the car a little more. Some nicer brakes and wheels are next on the list. Then I can go for the power and get some more 'go' to match my 'show', if you know what I mean. ;)

I know how you feel. Today, I took the pics of a blue VW New Beetle before I finished dressing the interior because I only had 30 minutes of sunlight to shoot the car in. Oh well, 3 weeks, 5 days and 2 hours and it will be daylight savings time...but who's keeping track, right? :)

looks great. i will be in orem on next saturday till the saturday after that. so maybe we can have a mini detail meet. i'm not sure how many products i can bring down, but i could possibly bring down the rotary if you wanna give it a shot.

Jngr,

I knew that both COBB and you were in SLC, but I didn't put the two together until you mentioned it. Mmmmmm, custom reflash. I'm jealous . . . one of the big names in Subaru tuning is local to you.

Car looks great! You have got to love the weather we have been having. I will be taking Friday off work so I can do a full detail on the Volvo.

This weather has been great. I hope it signals a true end to winter. I'm tired of the cold and having it rain or snow every other day. Let's get on with Spring already.

Nope. (Page 59 of the manual) According to the UHP (I called them last week) it is 43% up front and anything in back. This wasn't just a friend who knew someone who asked... I called the state and asked them straight up what the law was and he quoted it to me.

Very nice!!

Loving the mods thus far. Keep it up.

What kind of shoes ;)?

I'm not sure yet... Been thinking of something either similar to the RH C5 look-alikes I had on the teg or maybe even a C2 style wheel. I'm pretty sure it will be one of those. Probably the C2 style.

Kinda like these, but maye in a hyperblack or even bronze.

That 43% means the combined VLT (visible light transmission) of the glass (usually around 70%) and the tint. 70% X 50% = 35%. If you had 60% installed it would be around 42% VLT.

cut & pasted from page 59.

REJECT vehicle when:

a) Has any tinting, or non-transparent material added to the window(s) to the

immediate left or right of the driversâ€â„¢ seat that allows less than 43% light

transmittance. (Front left/right windows).

What I have on the car right now tests at 50% when a light meter is used. Whatever they used to calculate the amount of tint on the factory window told them what kind of tint to use I guess. I went to an inspection place and asked them to test my window just to see if they actually did use 50% tint or if that was just the end result. The end result was 50%. They could have used a darker film and gotten it to 43%. Is that what you were saying, or am I all mixed up again? lol Wouldn't surprise me if that is the case.

If the station used a meter to test and it read 50%, you could have gotten a little darker film. BUT, and I say again BUT, they may use that particular film because some vehicles have a little darker front windows (not to the naked eye, but technically) by a few percentage points. If they had applied a certain film on your car and it read exactly 43% with a meter, the same film may read 40% or a little darker on other cars. It depends on how strict the law is up there. Here in Oklahoma, there may as well NOT be a law because it is not enforced, at least not in this part of the state. Some towns like Moore, OK, are very strict with every law in the book with it comes to motor vehicles. I hope this sheds some light on the understanding of the law. I'm no expert in law, only in the art of window tinting, so I have to know how to interpret the tint laws of the other states.
