Microfiber

Well, there is lots to choose from.... Poorboy, Autogeek, Pak Shack, Chemical Guys, etc, etc. And locally the stock of MF towels seems to be improving as well - i.e. Wal-Mart, local parts places, etc.
 
All things considered, shipping,quality,price, I would say Steve at Poor Boys. He has what ya need, colors, quality, fast shipping and good deals.:inspector:
 
The DMT ones from Poorboy's are the softest ones I have used and I used a lot of different towels. They do not scratch perfected black paint and they do not lint. His waffle weave towels are so absorbant that they are hard to wring the water out of them unless you have hands like a gorilla. They get softer and softer with each wash. They are definately worth the little extra money over the other so called professional grade towels.
 
I finally got some of the much heralded PakShak towels. The waffle weave was very nice (best I have) but the dual nap type were nice but as good as other towels I use. I will have to use them more to form a more definite opinion.

I do not see the linting that some others see on some brands.
 
Never tried the PakShak towels, but have heard very nice things about them. I have bought towels from a variety of sources, online and OTC. Over the last decade there has been changes in the MF market. All changes seem to favor the consumer. It seems that the gap has narrowed between the "bad" towels and the "good" towels, and then there's the emergence of the "premium" towels.

I would suggest you pick a couple of towels which appear to fill your needs and order from any of the forum sponsors. Put them into service and make your bulk purchase decision based on those results.

I am in full agreement. They are extremely durable to boot.
 
I use Meguiars Supreme Shine.

Never had a problem with them.

Heard good things about Prima and PakShak towels.
 
6 or 8 years ago Pak Shack had a awesome ultra plush towel but it has not been available for several years now.

Same is true of Fiber Works they no longer sell their premium ultra plush towel.
I assume not enough demand, too many buying the cheap towels from Wal-Mart.
 
Just a hint I wish I had taken years ago.

When buying m/f for removal of product like the dmt's etc, get all one color this time. SO when you start replacing them, you switch to a different color and you know that one is for good stuff, one is for ruougher/dirtier use.

I didn't do this and now it is driving me crazy.

I agree 100%. :bigups PB's DMT 16"x16" green w/ gold binding... my best towels by far. Once I learned enough about MF towels to stop searching for the thickest nap, I found that these DMT's work best for all my non-grungy work.

My only problem with these towels is keeping my daughter's hands off them. Never having actually purchased a detailing towel, she has no appreciation for a premium towel, and makes no distinction between engine cleaning and LSP removal. :wall She is strictly limited to my Sams' Club stash. I'm actually thinking about padlocking these babies!

Guess I should be thankful that she has apparently caught the detailing bug. :cool:
