Im looking to upgrade my MF towels and I am currently looking at Excel Detailings MF. Anyone have any horor stoies or praise for them. Or recomend me another type in the price range of $2.00-$5.00 a piece.

Search. Tons of topics of this already covered. But if you're looking to $2-5 towels. I would either recommend pakshak.com or detailedimage.com. Awesome places to get your towels.

If you go to DI.com. Send George or Greg an e-mail and they will definitely help you. Tell em Andrew sent ya. :spot

Check the sponsors. They all carry nice towels. Danase.com has several towels. His PHAT towel is insanely thick. Deciding on what mf towel you want is about like deciding on which paste wax you want. Lots of good towels out there. I've never bought any from excel but can say I've never seen anything but good things about Patrick.

OK now its betweee Micropak and Excel...... dang you stiffdog you had to go and make this more complicated by ginving me so many more choices didnt you? ;)

I guess thats a good problem to have.

Saleenfan,

I have a lot of towels from a lot of different vendors, and you know which ones I use?? Whatever is on top of the stack. If you buy your towels from any of the recommended vendors on this forum, you will have nice towels.

good to know... Thanks

Honestly, to me i have vastly different towels for different things.

I personally like detailers domain's new towels. I'm not a firm believer that the thicker the towel the better. I kind of think once the towel gets loaded with product it starts to mar. I would rather have 5 good towels then 1 super expensive towels. that does not mean i don't use the super expensive, i simply limit their roles to what they are best suited for.

My polish, sealant and wax towels are from detailers domain. I use their 16x16. they only remove polish sealant and wax.

I use poorboys waffle weave drying towels for drying the vehicle.

I use poorboys super thick towels for detail spray buffing. I use Adams thick one sided towels for window cleaning.

I use costco yellow fro general cleaning.

I have had great results with the grey vrooms from target as well, no marring even on softer paints.

Might get flamed for it though :)

No flames here. Microfiber towels are one item that I don't see the need to buy boutique. Vrooms are one of the few OTC items that I'm quite pleased with.

I feel the same! It's easy to just go out to the store and grab a new set of towels.

I cant agree with this more!

90% of my towels are Vroom and Turtle Wax microfibers. I get the Vrooms obviously from target and the TW ones i get at Meijer, Pepboys and i think i got a pack at autozone once. I have NEVER EVER had them mar paint one bit.

Im not a boutique fan for anything, cheap and affective is the game.

i have/used megs, viking, mothers, pakshak, sonus, CG's, monster fluffy, cobras, exceldetail, zymol, etc., that are ALL great! it just basically comes down to what YOU like, and everyone on here seems to have a certain mf towel brand that works for them, so if they do the job for YOU, keep using them!

I agree that folks should stick with what works for them and that experiences will vary.

Having said that, other than Viking I don't let any other OTC MFs touch my paint. Vroom is ok - but I use it for door jambs/wheels and never for polish/sealant/wax removal or buffing.
