Nope, I don't agree. TO me it has to do with a combination of the fibers used, the thickness of the yarn clusters themselves, and the total surface presented to the paint by the loops or strands. YUou can have a thin fabric with long strands that will perform better than a thick fabric with short strands. It's all a combination, there is never just one thing that governs performance.
