Micro Fiber or Cotton??

I brought a boat load of micro fiber HAND applicators about two years ago...I like them OK, but for some reason found myself, reaching for the heavy duty cotton ones that I have....I feel like I get a better bite on the paint and more results.

I know that in talking to Steve he said that cotton with PP and other polishes cotton worked better...

What's everyone take on this??

I bought some mf pads but have yet to use them.I still use foam for everything but chrome,I use cotton when polishing chrome

I use cotton for pastes or thicker liquids, but I find that the MF's work better with the thinner liquids.

MF for me but if cotton is free it too is for me...

I did an experiment with PB PP using cotton and MF....the cotton gets better results...the same was true with SSR1 and 2.5 for hand applications...I still using MF but not on polishing or the likes of that

Cotton terry seems to work best for hand polishing for me.
The product seems to be more aggressive when used with the cotton terry compared to MF or foam applicators.
MF applicators didn't impress me at all and while I have several, it has been a year or two since I used one.
Obviously that leaves foam applicators as my favorites.
I do use the typical foam pads with a Garrand gripper handle some, but the ones I really prefer are these.

The built in handle keeps me from flipping them across the room like I often do with the small yellow ones.
There is only one real problem with them.
They are not available from any of the DC sponsors. :redface:

Addendum: Should I delete this? It has nothing to do with cotton or micro fiber.

microfiber has specific purposes ... by themselves they are for removing products such as wax or polishes , QD's etc and water too. Microfiber over foam applicators are great fro applying wax, sealants, or liquid waxes.

cotton is for working polishes as they have bite and can generate decent heat by hand ... some cotton can be use for removal of products and water, but microfiber works a bit better IMO.

I have found out by use in MF pads with glazes that it seems to spread more evenly for me.

For 28 years all I have ever used were cotton towels(Double Rinse, no Fab. soft) For removing waxes & sealants (Handjob:rofl), Cleaning windows and such. I can never recall having 1 problem ever. Other than adding "fabric softner":wall:wall:wall. I got on this site and kinda what I expected. tha next great thing isn't nessecerally that. I purchased several size M/F from local supplier. He also was saying how great they are.My experience with them removing wax cleaning leather or cleaning windows were very dissapointing... GIVE ME COTTON...I gave them to my wife to use around tha house,She said oh..those are so cute. They are currently in kitchen cupboard probaly to never be used. 1 Point I will give them that I tried buffin out "LEXOL" and wiping car down upon deleivery. :dcrules
