Michigan/Midwest "Detail Fest" for Summer 2011?

There has been some mention of interest in a detailing meet this summer, so I thought I'd start a thread to see if we can decide on a good time/date and location, and also see how many people would show up.



Two of the major events in Michigan for the summer, the Concours d'Elegance of America in Plymouth and the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, are on July 31st and August 20th respectively... would organizing an event around the time of those events be preferable?



I welcome anyone's thoughts! Depending on how many people are interested we could look into having seminars/classes from some of the pros in attendance, a car show, etc.

So far I've only heard from about half a dozen people with interest, hopefully more folks will chime in so we can make an event happen.
 
Glad you bumped this thread. I'll be there from this July 4th - 16th and would love to get together for maybe dinner/drink(s) one night during the week.



Trying to think of all the other MI Autopians. Someone should PM Shaun Carillo too.
 
I totally forgot about you Jason (sorry). I'd love for you to join in.



Do you guys want to plan a full blown event of just a quaint get together?

I doubt at this point we have the time to put together a full blown event (not to mention, probably not enough people to make it viable)....

So has anyone done any thinking/talking about plans over the next couple weeks? Where in the state are you, David?
 
I'm in the Royal Oak area, but can & will go where ever to meet up. What do you think about people getting together in Novi(Buffalo Wild Wings @ 12 Oaks mall)? That's kind of central for you, Marc & Jason. It should be a 45 minute ride give or take. I should have this Sunday/Monday open if you guys are available?
 
Hmm.... that might work on Sunday; let's see if we can find out what Marc and Jason are up to as well.



Monday morning I'll have a 911 in my garage for a full correction and I won't be able to get away.

Agreed! Sadly it's not looking like I can escape this afternoon after all :( Sometimes I hate being the only one with a truck :lol:

Heck no. I'm on vacation and I need this long needed break. No way I'm detailing! When I get back I'm booked solid into the end of Sept.
