MF washmitts- what are they good for?

They are not good for washing. Use them for dusting or cleanign the interior or something.

I use them for a final wipe down in the initerior and if the car is REALLY LIGHTLY dusty I will use one with S&W and a bucket of QEW.

I do not wash with one.

I love MF ofr windows and removing wax, but I have some waffle weave ones on the way to try for drying the cars.

For washing I have a natural wool mitt and sea sponge

Thanks guys appreciate it, I think I'll just use them for the rims or interior, and use the two sheepskin mitts for washing :)

IMO they only look like wash mits due the the elastic wrist band but they're actually used for interior dusting. Yes, they're soft but the low nap will not allow them to carry an adequate amount of soapy suds from bucket to surface.

I'd stick with wool or 100% cotton chenille wash mits for exterior washing.

Well........I love them for washing :)

which one do you have?dftowel, pakshak, poorboys etc?
Notice any new scratches?

ps: I just remembered I have another blue one from poorboy's, if I'm not mistaken that MF mitt is pretty plush, I'll check tomorrow at my parents' home.

MF wash mitts

Love my ultra microfibre wash mitts. Have used them for several months now with absolutely no problems.

I have the blue rectangular MF mit from Autofiber.com which has quite a bit of nap and quite plush. I've nad no problems with scratching and it's held up for an entire season with washing after EVERY use. I have purchsed other MF mits similar to the poorboys mit and others that I have found locally with virtually no plushness or nap that are only used for interior work but my good mit is fine for washing.

a lot has to do with how dirty the car is...if you are talking about a garage queen with some dust, there's no problem using a mf wash mitt , but if there is grit and dirt, then mf is designed to suck in dirt and does not easily release it without a thorough washing, thus you can easily scratch or marr the surface...I do know some people with very expensive street rods that use them with S & W for a quick wipe down of the paint, but most people get them for interior use on seats and dashes...
