MF towels on Zaino

Can I use MF towels to wipe off Zaino? The site advises against it and stresses the use of cotton towels instead, but I really don't have any "high quality" cotton towels, just a lot of MF towels. I'll be applying Zaino with the cotton pad they enclosed with my order, but I would like to just wipe off with MF towels. BTW, tomorrow will be my first experience with Zaino. Wish me luck!!:)

Sal Zaino was nice enough to e-mail me this reply when I asked him this same question before:

Unfortunately, the jury is still out on them..... Some of them I tested

are excellent and do not scratch... however some are terrible and

definetely scratch.. The quality control of these products from overseas

especially Korea is not consistent.. So you never know if they will be

the same scratch free quality...:( Even when using the same brands, I

found the quality to be inconsistent.:( It's a shame because I think the

concept is excellent...

For now I do not use them.... I'm still lab testing... Stay tuned..:)

NOTE: If you are already using microfiber towels.

Look carefully at your paint finish under flourescent light when you are using your towels. If

you are not getting any swirls or fine scratches, from the microfiber towels then you are okay

and can continue to use them... Remember it's better to be safe than swirly.

I have used that Korean MF for product removal in general. I don't find any problems with it, but as Sal said, the QC may be inconsistent. However, Sal maybe referring to the other Korean MF towels.

I got mine from a local professional detailing shop who has been a pioneer member of this forum, so I trust him as to the performance of the MF towels I bought from him.

ogie_s how old is that email from Sal? I think it is pretty old, he'll answer you differently now. Also, for some reason he has yet to update his towel page, he recommends Canon Fieldcrest which haven't been made in over three years.

Why don't you just pull a few $$ out of your pocket and order some hight quality Egyptian Cotton Diapers or some very fine MF buffing towels? If you can spend the money on Zaino, why not buck up and buy the diapers?

Actually that e-mail was dated Feb. 28 '05 so it's pretty recent. I asked him because I only just recently started using Zaino and didn't want to have to buy a bunch of cotton towels when I just bought a bunch of MFs from Exceldetail. I wanted a clarification from the big boss himself on whether that was okay.

I use MF with Zaino and have had no problems. And the Cannon field crest towles are under a different name now, but I can't remember ,but I know you can buy them at Kohls.

It's not good to use Egyptian cotton or diapers, IMO. Diapers have no nap.

The MFs from Exceldetail will be fine.

I am not sure how much Zaino changed, but when I used Zaino I had a combination of MF/Cotton.

I would use my Fieldcrest Charisma towels to break the zaino haze and take most of it off. Then I'll come back around with an Mf (YoSteve's or Pakshaks) for a final buff then do the Z6 with another MF.

I guess its personal preference to what kind of toweling you use.

Quote: Buff off the Show Car Polish residue with a high quality, 100%, made in the USA, cotton-detailing towel. Zaino website

blkZ28Conv- Leo, doesn't Sal now feature your all natural DF Towels on his website? I could have swore I saw them. :nixweiss

I also take âہ“100%, made in the USA, cotton-detailing towelâ€Â to infer DFAlpine towels (Logic: why would you use a cotton bath towel to apply a â€Ëœstate of the artâ€â„¢ polymer :nixweiss )

I see a link on Leo's site to Zaino...maybe that's what you're thinking ?

I must be mistaken. :nixweiss

I can not find it now at the Zaino website. :o

I do recommend DF Towel all-natural MF towels along with the use of any hi-quality poly MF (ExcelDetail, WCD, Pakshak, Autofiber) for Zaino removal.

These are the only type of towels I use on Zaino or any LSP and QD.

Not that I ever saw. He has allowed us to say what we do on ours though, so that should tell you something! If you call or email and ask he'll tell you his recommendations.
