MF Pad ?'s

I have been detailing for several years and have always used the foam pads, mostly CCS pads with some waffle. I have had really good success with these pads, but have been reading a lot of info about the MF pads. I was wondering what some of the advantages are to the MF pads and how people actually like them. I was looking at the Meguiars Microfiber Correction System. I know that Lake Country also offers the MF pads and was just looking to see if they had many real benefits over the foam pads before making a purchase.

cut faster

Tradeoff is much more work to clean them in between panels, got to use brushes like crazy and comprssed air if you have it

Edited.

cut faster and finish better

I agree mf pads have a cutting advantage over foam but I have yet to have a surface where mf will finish better then foam. Can you share a little info on this ?

I believe Roshan meant they finish better than comparably cutting foam and wool. Can normally go from serious correction to finish with only two steps.

I have been using the Megs microfiber cutting discs since they were available.
They can correct swirls and fine scratches quickly and easily with no "mess".
Until recently I used a fine polishing pad w/M205 after the MF/D300 correction.
I don't have compressed air. I've always used a "Bug sponge" to clean the discs.
I'd start with two Meguiars 5" DA Microfiber Cutting Discs and a D300 Compound.

Sorry guys the below is indeed what I meant. I normally use a MF cutting pad and then switch to a foam white or gray pad to finish to get the best of both worlds. Sorry for the confusion.

Never thought of bug sponge......

Thank you

Never thought of bug sponge......

I use it dry. Fast, clean, works on-the-fly...been doing it since day one.

The increase in surface area that a MF pad has allows DA polishers to work more efficiently. They will offer an increased amount of cutting action over traditional foam cutting pads while reducing the amount of haze/marring.
