This was today's detail, the interior of a 1999 Chrysler Mini Van. When people call that own these I just freakin shudder cause we know what's coming.

Process:

Blew out interior with leaf blower then compressed air.

Sprayed carpet and tracks with APC 10:1, as well as all vinyl and panels.

Let sit for 10 minutes

Filled LGCM w/ Zep carpet cleaner

Sprayed carpet and let sit for 3 minutes

Went over 2x2 area with MCCulloch steamer

Removed water with LGCM

Looks Good! I personally don't mind doing minivans. After the benches are removed, I have tons of room to work, where as most of the smaller cars, are a pain in the *ss.

Looks good:up . Did you find that using the steamer before extracting helped the process?

Nice work! I also cringe when I get calls about minivans. Mark is right though, being able to remove the seats does make it easier.

Oh yeah, it is a big help and you can also get gum and things off the floor this way also and reduce red marks. I only paid like $79 for the steamer.

sweet. My mom just gave me one. When you say red marks you mean red stains, right?

Mine is called an omega. It has a 9oz capacity and 900 watts.

Good enough?

This should be cool.

9 oz is pretty small, does it have a brush with it and hose? Mine is like 32oz I think, enough to do one or two cars. The tips they gave me are no good, they melt as soon as you use them, but it came with a few brushes which hold up fine.

I'd like more info on the steamer / extractor. I'm seeking a cost effective way to get this capability.

Thanks!

I have to say man that i have had the cleanest interiors I have ever done the last few cars I used steam, I mean it is no joke.

I bought this steamer ar Harbor Freight tools. I simply use my LGCM to Spay down the carpet I take the steamer and with corner brush attachment i go over it. Then i suck the excess water out with the LGCM. the great thing is the steamer doesn't put out a lot of water but it removes everything.

I've seen those...good to hear they work!

Question...does the LGCM outperform a Shop Vac in this application? IOW is the LGCM a necessary part of this process? Sounds like it might not be....but you're the guy with the experience.

Well the LGCM does apply the product hot, it is a heated machine that is the real advantage, plus you can use different attachments to help clean different areas.
