Mequiar's Quik Detailer got sticky

I had my first ever problem with Mequiar's Quik Detailer and I was hoping you guys could give me a clue as to what happened.

I had wash my car, then put Quick Detailer on it. Then I drove it for about 500 miles, Since it really not had not gotten "dirty" I applied Quik Detailer on it to get it cleaned up.

As I applied Quik Detailer on it, it became sticky as I began to take it off with a MF towell. I first noticed it on my windows with over spray, then on the paint. It was like Elmer's Glue in consistency after it had semi-dried on a piece of construction paper.

The temp was about 60 degrees with humidity about 50%. I have been using this product for about a year rather frequently and it has always wiped on and off without any troule.

Any ideas?

I've been having a similar problem with meg's QD streaking everytime I applied it. I finally realized :o I was getting silicone slings from my tire dressing that was causing the problem.

Not likely, did not use any tire dressing at either the wash prior to my trip or at the time of the QD application.

One indicator of a protectant's endpoint is difficulty in using any QD. When the protectant is gone one is just QD'ing the unprotected paint surface. This may not be your case. Just a thought. :wavey

Thanks, I applied AIO/SGx3 in September and since then I have put on a couple of layers of carnuba wax.
