Menzerna FTG topped with FMJ

In the recent CMA newsletter, they suggest to use FTG topped with FMJ.

I was under the impression the most if not all sealants should be on a bare oil free surface. Because FTG is a "glaze", shouldn't this either prohibit bonding of FMJ or at the least decrease the durability of FMJ versus if FMJ was just applied to a car without no glaze underneath ?

There are some sealants that are ok with many products such as glazes and polishes. One that comes to mind is Poorboy's EX and EX-P, and Meguiars #20. So I think it is just what the sealant is made to work with. In this case, I think it will be fine since they recommend it and have their own glaze to use before.

I just used the Menzerna kit on my new E55 hood and front fenders...all I can say it WOW!!!

The depth is awesome for a sealant!!!

Will post pictures in an hour or so...

Here are some pictures...

FP-II... Grey-ish white...Much lighter color compared to original FP.

FTG-a off-white color...beige almost.

FMJ-almost a hot-pink... Stained my new MF applicators from Ranney. I've soaked in Tide Free for the last 2 hours...Don't think it's coming off.

Thanks Chris

I'm sure that pink color was added there, to make a difference.

I'm convinced FMJ is PO85U;

FP-II is PO85RD;

FTG is PO73.

The first two are also new here, they produce similar results, why would Menzerna make different products for us if one works for both? :nixweiss

Anyway, I have my NEW Menzerna distributor working on this, on a comparison chart ;)

I saw his post and I though I might have gotten the wrong product :confused:

Here is a picture from the CMA Application Guide I got with the kit. I even shows a hot pink color for FMJ.

Again, appologies for the crappy photo...
