menzerna abrasives...

I found that Power Gloss and Intensive Polish use Aluminum Oxide as the abrasive. This is the same abrasive(by classification) as 3m 3000 series and Presta UUC and UUCL uses. I haven't been able to find any info as to what abrasive is used in the ceramic clear polishes.

Setec- I think you are right. My research shows that Aluminum Oxide has a 9 Mohr rating and Quartz Silica has a 6 Mohr rating. Cerium Oxide must be some hard stuff since the Mohr scale tops out at 10 unless I'm mistaken.

Shoot, I'm just remembering the poor, departed Bill D talking about the Auto International Cerious Polish which I think is meant for Ceramiclear (their website is down right now) and how he wanted to give it a shot on his hard Audi clear.

Menzerna use aluminium oxide yes but how these are milled is the difference

They are uniform and of the finest quality.

Quartz silica is not used in their products.

Cerium oxide is used to get scratches out of glass so it's probably a bit too hard for paint

This quoted from the Speer Auto Center site that sells or uses the Auto Int. ValuGard products:

"Cerious Compound

Specifically formulated for the new "NANO" clear coats being introduced on higher line vehicles, such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, etc. Product works on all present and past high solid urethane clears, when the correct pads & rotary buffer speeds are utilized."
