Melted wax

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of melted wax? The wax is in one of my customers change/cigarette lighter compartment and is about 1/4" thick. I know that I could scrape it out, however I don't want to leave scuff or scrape marks underneath.

Is the part removeable? If so, then take it out and soak it in a bucket of VERY hot water. The wax will soften and be esier to wipe out. Then use an APC to remove the residue.
