Hey guys i was wondering if it would be a good idea to use meguires 3 step products. Instead of using the wax they have as step three i would use NXT. Has anyone had any luck with this combo. Also could i use SSR2 somewhere in there for my swirl marks. I am ordering that today. I am going to clean the car and clay bar then use the steps if everyone thinks it's ok.

Thanx for any info in advanced

Jason

I've used that combo many times over and it works great. Thats actually what I use on my Wifes Metalic red jeep, gives a nice deep shine. On my car i've been using SSR1, DC#2 and NXT. Being my car is black I have more fine scratches I gotta try and remove

thanx so my process is going to look something like this.

Wash

Clay Bar

Step 1

Step 2

And finally 2 coats of NXT

I'll let you guys know how it turns out. The car will be sitting inside all winter and covered with a cheap walmart cover since it's just to keep the dust off the car.

I think step 1 and step 2 is crap. However the 3rd step is pretty nice. I have all three on the self collecting dust. Mothers line of cleaners are much better if you are buying from a store shelf.

Id skip the 3 step kit entirely, and go with SSR 2 or 2.5 followed by the NXT. It will give you results that are 10x better with much less fuss.

you'll find their are quiet a few members here who get really nice results you a straight polish after applying SSR's
so, clay, SSR, a polish, and some wax? Will this go well with an orbital buffeR?

Step 1 Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is my 'go to' product when I want to strip the finish to start over. With the PC, I have been able to remove (not hide) the light micro marring that occurs over time.

The steps are the important part. It doesn't matter if you are using SSR2, Wolfgang Pre-Wax, and Wolfgang Sealant. You are still following the three steps of polishing, preping, and waxing.

Layering NXT on more than once is kind of redundant. It isn't a product that can be layered due to the mild abrasives and cleaning properties it has. I have tried more than one layer of NXT and there really isn't any discernable optical difference between one and two layers. That's just from the 3 or 4 cars I've tried it on. Your results may vary I guess. I just hate to see people doing more work than necessary.

Not trying to hijack the post but can carnuba type waxes be layered over NXT?

Two light coats are recommended not so much to increase protection but to ensure even/complete coverage.
