Hi guys. Can someone confirm/deny if Ultimate has any abrasives? I am looking something that will not strip what is underneath it.

Thx!

Why would it have any abrasives in it? As far as I know its just a finishing wax.

I am not sure why it would have any abrasives. That's why I am asking the question. Simply hoping someone can confirm.

Abrasives, no. Light cleaners(like NXT), maybe....but I would ask on MOL.

What are you trying to top with Ultimate Wax?

Opti-Seal. One of the guys at Optimum stated layering a wax on top would give it some extra depth.

Erik, you sure it has no cleaners, even mild ones like NXT?

I'd be thrilled if true. Do you have a post on MOL that confirm that please. :)

I actually just received an email last night from Meguiar's stating it does not include any cleaners or abrasives.

Why the email? Special privileges? ;)

Nope - just sent an email to the address detailed on their website. I never have good luck getting replies in general, but thought I would give it a try.

Well done for getting a response. I'd be very dubious of what some customer service operator says though. They've been known to give incorrect information. They do play down the 'cleaners' issue a Meguiars.

Is this an over the counter product from them ? Pure sealant would be nice . I wonder how it would compare to DG 111 which is supposed to be a pure sealant ?

No cleaners, I heard it from the Gents at Meguiars. Personally, my favorite Ultimate product is UQW!

Definitely zero cleaners! However as a side about this product, you definitely want to do as thin of layers as possible (just like every other LSP nowadays really). I had some streaking the first time I applied this to a black car so I had to re-do it. I applied it via GGDA and black pad. I wanted to try it out because I read that it was claimed by Meguiar's that it was good to apply in direct sunlight/heat, although a cool shaded place is always suggested. It worked well in sunlight and doesn't stain trim so ++ for an OTC sealant.

*edit - here's a pic of it on a little old Scion

I've looked on MOL for a clear statement about that but can't find any - for or against. Can you point me to post which states that if you know of any, please?

Its labeled as a pure synthetic polymer. I didn't notice any fillers with it, so if it does have any, they are very minimal.
